Free Company tax?

Even disbanding an inactive fc would be a pretty bad idea, simply because of the fc chest. What would happen to that? Would it all be lost? If an fc saved up for, say, a house and they put all that money in their chest, and one of them comes back after a logn period of time, would he not be able to regain any of that?
I'd say if you're oh-so-salty about not being able to get a certain name, the only thing that could be implemented would be forced renaming of fcs to something like FC8491.

You could always do what other folks do when they have their heart set on a name that's already taken. Throw in a couple X's and misspellings, or whatever, ala XXXSephirothhhXXX (XXXSephirothhXXX and XXXSephirothXXX were already taken, you see!).

In this thread OP wants to make an FC but the name they want is taken by a not-so-very active FC and, thus, wants to punish small/less active Free Companies. And they're trying to hide it under "encouraging group play style that I want".

Now maybe an FC renaming, but only for FCs with all members that have been inactive for a minimum of 30 days.

There is a glut of Free Companies with 10 or fewer members, with nearly 350 of those having only one member (On Jenova alone!). Is there a system currently in place to clean up this mess? Perhaps we could have a recurring tax on credits each month?

Long ago (2.1) I created an FC called 'The Exalted.' I eventually gave this FC (and house) to someone else; wanting a larger and 'non-Goblet' property instead. They didn't like the FC name but wanted the Plot badly and could at least change the FC tags. Years later (3.1?) Square-Enix enables the option to change your FC name. I immediately contacted those old owners in The Goblet and asked them if they'd be interested in changing their FC name so I could use "The Exalted" once again. Some bartering probably didn't occur *cough.* And now my FC name has gracefully returned to my arms.

So the moral of the story is:
Square-Enix needs to create a "Bad Suggestions Tax" and heavily enforce said tax on the OP. At least I think that's what I was getting at.

No. Just no. Why should players get tax slapped onto them just because they like having a small FC with perhaps their closest friends/family. It's like saying the government should slap on heavy housing taxes on families with less than X amount of people because they're wasting the housing space that could be used for larger families.

To be fair this happens in the sense in the UK in regards to the bedroom tax, say if you convert one into an office and the like it doesn't change the fact its still considered a bedroom and we get taxed accordingly ¬___¬

But yeah the OP's whole idea and concept is just ludicrous over not being able to get a name.

Me and my friends transferred to Odin several months back and we couldn't get the FC name we originally had so we sat on it for a bit and came up with a new name that we all adore now.

Were you one of the original creators or did you inherit FC? If so do you not remember how hard it was to keep two FC buffs up daily due to burning through credits.
