This isn't that kind of game...no thanks
I mean if one day they have so much extra time, space, and money to get that sever up then sure whatever. But I doubt they ever will so

Clearly, the best Final Fantasy character is Locke Cole.
Glamour is TRUE ENDGAME
So picture this, if you will: We meet in the PvP zone, and instead of fighting, we decide to pair up. I'll be your AST. We proceed to hunt down several other players, maybe even other pairs that are trying to do what we're doing. We're close to whatever rewards we want, so we decide to hit a sanctuary and break for a bit. . .
That's when I immediately drop party, Asp-Bene myself, use the Balance I held, Roaded for more potency, Celestial Opp you, Disable you, then gank you with help from a buddy I was talking to in TS the whole time, whom I arranged to have waiting for us there. Thanks for the rewards!
So FUN, right?

This game needs an open PvP Map, that way it's easy to implement. Heck, that way even the GC restriction could stay and maybe have a limit on how many people can join or make it cross server.
It could have mobs, gathering nodes, etc with different rare drops to get people to go.
Why would i pair with a random person to begin with?So picture this, if you will: We meet in the PvP zone, and instead of fighting, we decide to pair up. I'll be your AST. Let's say that even happens, lesson learned, what's the point of your example? Something that happens once? Yeah fun indeed.
I suppose you never played any open world pvp game based on what you said, so i'll end our chat here.
Change the example to an impish guild mate then. I got to listen in TS to a rage session after a fellow guildie was typhoon'd to his doom by one of our druids on the timeless isle in WoW after having worked together for the previous hour. His reasoning? He thought it would be funny. And I suppose for the rest of us it was.
No real point here btw. That's not a reason to not have the server. Just that it doesn't have to be a rando.

Insanity is a gradual process, don't rush it - Ford Prefect
Do you generally just think of the worst possible scenario for things? So picture this, if you will: We meet in the PvP zone, and instead of fighting, we decide to pair up. I'll be your AST. To answer your question, Robbie, I play and rather enjoy both Tera and Blade & Soul. Enjoyed The Dark Zone in the Division at least when my friends still played it. Don't try to discredit or write me off as someone who hasn't played anything with open world PvP.
And Seoulstar, No, I'm not so inclined to think of worst case scenarios, but consider this: I'm not a low/conniving enough player to do something like that, and I thought that up. . . What do you think a player who is that conniving might possibly come up with?
If you want OWPVP server I would say throw this in for restrictions.
All Friendly NPCs, Cities, and Aetherites project a sanctuary zone, no player or NPC within a sanctuary zone can be engaged.
A Ganker is required to sync to the target's class level and ilvl before they can engage the target.
DoL and DoH who have no combat skills cannot be engaged.
A person who has changed jobs cannot be targeted for sync'ing and ganking until their longest cooldown has finished its reset.
A person who is engaged with a mob, or is part of an active fate, cannot be engaged until the fate/mob is completed/dead.
Im down for this.
*replied in order of your list.
1) Sanctuaries already exist
2) This doesn't matter at all if you have another player protect you. Yes, some will want to be that player.
3) Crafters shouldn't really be leaving sanctuaries to craft. Gatherers will have problems until they get stealth, but they should seek protection anyway since that's easier than using stealth all of the time.
4) Back to sanctuaries. You get no cool down reset in them already.
5) This is fair. There is a "cannot target" flag for leves and maps... I'm sure they can make it work for other things.
