Well, hopefully Ilberd does something very stupid and makes an enemy out of both Garlemald and Eorzea in the process. In turn, that safely lays the groundwork for building up some sympathetic Garlean characters that are both loyal to their homeland and people but also willing to offer a reasonable amount of aid where Eorzea is concerned. Of course there's many other factors to consider as well. Regula is clearly being built up for something but whether it is for a stand alone story or something that ties into the next expansion remains to be seen. Then there's the Warrior(s) of Darkness and Elidibus who will likely tie into the lead up to the next expansion somehow.

Anyway do to work I've been pretty far behind on finishing all the story stuff. I just did the Warring Triad stuff today.

Anyway am I the only one who heard the story of the primal infused Auracite weapons corrupting their wielders and turning them into Aether consuming fiends and thought 'that kind of sounds like what happened with Odin....'

Perhaps the method isn't completely unknown on this star.

On a separate note:

I've been starting to wonder if we might see Rowena become a rival on the syndicate to Lolorito. It would be quite interesting and clever on Nanamo's part if she started forming an alliance with Rowena now if she was going to take the empty syndicate seat in the future. It would probably sway political control more in her favour if she had Rowena side with her. After all, while Rowena is a pretty cutthroat trader I get the feeling she has more of a moral compass still than Lolorito has. Say what you will about all her indentured workers, they are all women she has saved from crippling debt.

The lore lowdown on Duty Commenced about her a few months back suggested that she might be interested in the seat.

I was under the impression that what happened with the Auracite was the result of fighting Voidsent like Ascians.

He said that the primal energies bled out of the Auracite as the weilders used the primal energies as weapons slowy corrupting the weilder and turning them in to Aether hungry husks and eventually they turned on each other to fight over the worlds dwindling supply of Aether. Its why he hates people who want to use primals so much.

Basically, we're safe. for now, since we use the stuff to trap [an Ascian] temporarily so we can destroy them for good.

What it sounds like the people of that world did was use them more like soulstones...trap the [Primal] in it and use its power that way. Just...they got corrupted by the [Primal's] power eventually...

Yeah, that's what I meant. I don't think Auracite itself is particularly risky and our use of it isn't long term enough to be a particular issue. My main point was that the method talked about might actually already exist on our world because the stories of the corrupted heroes he mentions sound quite similar to

Actually, maybe the method used to prime the Auracite to trap Ascians isn't that different from what was used to trap primals. It would be curious to see if this comes into effect later. If nothing else, it would be an interesting different spin on the traditional primal fight.

it sort of describes what happens in ivalice doesnt it? just wondering whats up with unakalhai's origins if not from hydaelyn direct, cant be one of the original player character races
