I've played every job in this game to 50 and above. I have never once looked up a guide for playing any of them, except for one to figure out a BLM level 60 rotation, since that's my main. Everything I know about any given job, comes mainly from reading its skill/trait tooltips, and my own experiences with playing them, both in solo and group play. Except for one incident, when I was a newbie GLA in Toto-Rak struggling and totally failing to keep aggro despite spamming Flash, I have never needed anyone to coach me on how to play my entire job in a dungeon.
I absolutely cannot understand how or why someone cannot even be bothered to look at the information that's given freely to them. This kind of player just makes everyone else's lives so miserable, it depresses me how common they are.
A nice wipless run of Weeping city... people were awesome the run was awesome
One thing.... I managed to lock myself out from second boss... I was tank... a friend Bard had to tank the add in my name... i feel so ashamed of myself .____.

I was in arboretum with 2 French first timers and...
And it was totally fun! ^^
We enjoyed the run together, I explained everything and as tank I had no aggro issues ( even when I noticed, they kill always the small ones first, but well, adapting my playstyle to others is part of the game)
I sincerely hope, I will get more good experiences with frenchies so I can improve my opinion about them, since I almost always had negative experiences with frenchies before.
best moment ever : when dead players tell you they learned more about mechanics in watching two people fight Shiva EX (a tank and a poor healer) then watching a video or doing it themselves.
After that, we started over, timer was 8mn...we said lets try....we reached 1% when the timer of the dungeon finished ..sooo close...yet all was Worth it
I love it when I que for dungeons in progress and pop in with another monk. THe other monk is always happy and we continue to kick butt and save the planet from whatever last boss we have to punch in the face. For this I only que for Lost city and Sohm K cause those are my favs. Last SK I did was awesome, no wipes, the group was silent but at the end. When almost all the platforms were gone and we were standing in all of the sunrise. I said " Yay?" Tank " Yes Yay lol " And it felt good. Bows and dances later we left. I have hope for people once more.
Forgive me for this question, but isn't this how that boss is supposed to be done? I haven't done CC for ages so no idea if mechanics changed, but I used to kite all adds the Princess spawned around the edge of the arena and tank & dps focused on the boss. Whenever dps and/or tank tried to get adds' attention things usually turned out either in wipe or a very very slow kill.
Not sure if this is allowed, but a well done and thank you shout out to the DRG and MNK that were with me in Antitower! Right after the first pull, tank and a dps just left, leaving me and the DRG. MNK zoned in, and we decided to just wing it as far as we could. Made it all the way to the last boss with no deaths before a Tank showed up. If you happen to see this thanks for the fun run guys! ^_^
Or the tank could grab the adds, and the dps could kill the big ones first (marshal? I don't have the name right now). The marshals shield the princess when they're close so she takes less damage, which is why it takes so long if the dps ignore them.Forgive me for this question, but isn't this how that boss is supposed to be done? Having the healer kite them around only works if the healer knows about it beforehand. There's no mechanics to suggest it; this is a player made strategy. And it's just about the only time the healer is supposed to. Any other time if the healer grabs adds and kites them far away from the tank, it's begging to be screamed at and/or kicked from duty.
