Grind Party - You can have this...You don't get any decent gear while leveling until ~20. Using high level gear penalizes you too much.
Your stats are terrible until ~20, so you have to rest every 1-3 mobs. It's also nearly impossible to fight any monster more than 2 levels above you.
You cannot complete any leve that isn't below your level. The linking mobs will destroy you. Leves now occasionally fail if you die.
The money rewards from leves, chesta, and quests at low levels makes it impossible to purchase any items via MW, unless you take up a gathering/crafting class and try your hand at marketing.
Have you done any thorough testing on your patch, SE?
I'm on an entirely new server, so straight up new everything. Even new character model and names, and I'm rockin' the solo just fine. Right now I just moved up to dodos and puks and those are going pretty good.
Sure, except most newbies are going to want to use what they make before they even think of selling to someone else. :P
The game was easy and solo friendly before this patch and still kept the new players away so stop using this excuse already. It doesn't matter if you one shot a mob or take 5 minutes killing it, you're still grinding and that's what kept most of the people i know away from this game. In every other mmo i've played besides FFXI, if you have to level up on just killing mobs its considered lack of content.
So wait..the worst of part of an MMO is grouping and socalizing? No wonder people get upset by not being able to solo from start to finish.
In these types of games, I'm used to people being either self-serving, overbearing assholes, or creepy nerds who seem unaware that nobody else cares about their collection of lolicon fanart, so you can imagine my reluctance to voluntarily subject myself to such horrors.
While I can't argue against this being valid for a shitload of gamers(and probably denizens of the internet as well), don't be so myopic. Try rolling with different crowds.
Definitely not that way with a lot of FF mmo players. but definitely is that way with most of wow players. If you pick a random 10 from FFXI -or- FFXIV and compared them with a random 10 from any other mmo, I'm willing to bet you'd have a more "respectable" or even more "hygenic" human on the FF side.
Also, I stopped in gamestop to pick up my mule account, to find FFXIV had been discontinuedbut they had one CE edition left, but it was discounted to $40, SCORE! My mule is now 20THM. Grinded to 12 with random mobs and leves, then got a party for giant crabs by bloodshore and hit 20 in about 1.5-2hr. I don't see why it's so hard.

Now with nVidia Surround!!!
MicroATX Desktop - i7 950 - 12gb ram - 2x GTX580
2x Intel 520 180gb SSD's in Raid0 - 3x 28" LCD @ 5760x1200
just find somebody to help PL you. it's easier than ever now according to so many folks. Before the patch it would take 3hrs of PLing to get to 20, now it should be more like 2 or less.
