Yes OP, this game has longevity issues. They really ought to start addressing them.
With FFXI I never, ever had that issue lol.

Its funny... I just was thinking about that. I'm a PUP person in FFXI and looking at spamming Alluvion Skirmish Y to start creating a Automaton Magic pup nuking set...since I'm approaching 1200 job points. That alone will take awhile to create... in addition, there are some specialized rings I wanna work on getting to enhance my automaton's enmity gain when tanking... etc. So I don't get bored like this with FFXI and I've been in endgame for more than a minute. HA! Funny that... and kinda sad.

I feel the exact same way. I've played XI and never came across this problem. With XIV, it's very monotonous and extremely repetitive; rinse and repeat style equates to boredom for me after awhile, especially when you do the same two dungeons for expert roulette over and over again...

Well, yes and no. I can play XIV for about 90 mins per evening and get more done than I could in 5-6 hours of 11. Heck, on DPS half my evening in XI could be spent simply trying to get/form a party.
It felt it had more longevity because everything took longer to do.
Personally, I love that an hour or two on XIV is sufficient to achieve some stuff and I can then go play something else for the rest of the evening.
Think about it, nobody wants to die, there's rules to this game son, I'm justified.
