Yeah it's intended, not broken, but SE has previously mentioned they were going to reconsider it for some things. Definitely not for mogstation items. This was a while ago though.
I'd thought this was universally true, but apparently not. I noticed the other day that the chocobo stable, which is one of these destroy-on-removal items, does not have that warning in its description that most other such items have. (It does give the warning about it both when you place a stable and when you remove one, just not in the item description tooltip.) If I noticed that being the case for one item, I wonder how many other such exceptions there are.
Really disagree with any item being destroyed.
we have so many limitations already.
cant easily even change a theme of a home due to extremely low item limits, and this silly function as well.
Nothing should ever be destroyed...ever.
Keep it rare with drop rates of mats NOT due to destroying.
Housing here is more focused on gouging players, no need to have any item lost simply because one changes their mind...or wants a different "look" /smh.
I am used to housing though that is designed for fun and being creative, where one can build/completely strip down /and rebuild at will and without punishment for doing so.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
♥ MORE HIGH HEELS + INSTANCED HOUSING! ♥!
yeah everything should be bound to you and thats it not destroyed
Greetings, interior decorators of Eorzea!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the current limitations on removal and storage of furnishings.
In regards to this suggestion, we're planning to make some alterations in the future so that rare furnishings which are difficult to obtain (such as those with materials from trials and raids) are no longer lost upon removal. We're aiming to implement this a little bit after Patch 3.35, and are currently reviewing which furnishings we can do this for.The extra rule that varies between item types, destroying some of them if the item is removed, seems really unnecessary. (It's so often set on some of the hardest-to-get items, too. If it were the other way around, destroying the cheapest easiest to get items, I might more readily accept treating those as disposable.)

All furnishings would be nice...Greetings, interior decorators of Eorzea!

We work hard for some of that stuff ya know...
FINALLY!! I've been hoping for this since 2.2
Brilliant news!![]()
Yay but please do just remove the restriction for all items across the board.
What's the reason to have this system for any item in place at all besides being a very annoying artificial way of maintaining the rarity/achievement? It's almost bullying your players as it is right now. A very 90's type of design that were made for lack of better, just like the love for infinitely deep menu's and things to click to get somewhere (looking at you especially fertilizer...).Greetings, interior decorators of Eorzea!
