DF healers seem quite bad at this, from what I hear. I found it engaging as an AST, but nothing to write home about in terms of challenge. Can't wait to jump into the EX version and put my skills to the test. The only real challenge I could name for this fight is the heal check. Almost everything Nid does we've already seen in other content. I was expecting this to be a nightmare after reading so many posts about its difficulty but I went in blind and everything was fine.
If this was nerfed in some way it'd be an absolute joke.
I ran this first on White Mage.
First attempt was nothing but wipes because our DPS was absolutely abysmal and no one was dodging. My co-healer was eating the floor about 50% of the time, too. Couldn't down adds before the Final Chorus went off. We Vote Abandoned.
Second attempt with a new group, I went Summoner and literally had no issue. Adds died and we had plenty of time to put up shields for Final Chorus.
People need to get good and start doing mechanics and dodge.
All of 3.3 is pretty much telling you, you can't be lazy anymore. People need to start pulling their weight.
This is the way it should have been front the start.
I actually quite like this trial
while it's not overly challenging, there is still some challenge in it, more so than Thordan story mode anyways
I wiped a few times as well before getting a clear after two days, but hey, I felt good after that, it felt like an accomplishment of sorts
While the heal check seems pretty hard, it does make people actually put in an effort to get through the trial instead of full faceroll
I sincerely hope they won't nerf this, as I like the challenge of it. These mechanics are not hard to learn, not even for a casual player.
All people need to do is actually listen and not ragequit after 2 wipes .___.
My biggest issue with this fight is the minimum ilvl requirement. Just had a group with two 205-210 BLMs who died to pretty much everything that they didn't avoid entirely, not to mention that we could barely stack properly with them for Akh Morn. The fight itself isn't too challenging once you get used to things, but if you have too many players with "low" ilevel, it's quite brutal.
Still possible. The minimum Ilvl is how low SE could go without being screwed in the content. My biggest issue with this fight is the minimum ilvl requirement. Higher ilvl is not really going to change much at all. Biggest problem is people do not follow mechanics EVEN when it was explained to them. If people followed mechanics (which are really easy in this fight) The fight is really smooth. The dps check is not even that high.My biggest issue with this fight is the minimum ilvl requirement. EX sure...even tho EX comapred to stuff like thordan is super easy normal however....dodge stuff thats it normals biggest mechanics hot wing hot tail ank morn ..........people should not die
Yes, it's definitely possible. It just allows almost no room for mistakes, which is a bit much for story content. Granted, the majority is ilevel 220+ by now, but it's definitely noticeably tougher when you tackle the fight with minimum requirements.
That's not true in this case, considering the vast amount of unavoidable AoE Damage. That's especially true if you have healers who barely meet the requirements. Again, it's still possible but try sharing Akh Morn with several ilevel <210 players and you'll know what I mean.
Said the completely overgeared Tank. Obviously you shouldn't die.
i dont die because i dodge mechanics class doesnt matter lol
Yeah, because you can totally dodge unavoidable AoE damage. When you have several lesser geared people, the heal-output throughout the fight is crazy, especially if the healers aren't very well geared either.
There's a difference between ilevel 230~ players following mechanics and ilevel 205-210 players doing the same.
I am not saying that the fight is too difficult for story content, because it's not. I'm saying that the minimum requirements are too low for story content, which is something I've repeatedly noticed during the last few days. It might not be a big deal, but I think it's still worth mentioning.
