It doesn't mean they're bad per se. I'd like to give peeps the benefit of the doubt and assume they know the boss can be pushed too fast and therefore tone it down when they know an add should be popping.

I honestly didn't know you could outright SKIP that last phase...so yeah I tend to hold back a bit on the boss.

I have a bit of catching up to do. As in I have two dungeons and a trial from 3.2 to do. I haven't been able to do it due to a combination of shitty internet (that Comcast won't do dick for), insomnia, getting sick because of said insomnia and now the muscles at the base of my right thumb hurting.

Anyway, I queue up for trial roulette on 3.3 patch day and I get Sephirot. I wasn't really expecting him since I hadn't refreshed my memory recently with a video, but I wasn't going to drop it because of that. I figure I'll go with my rule of thumb of "dodge all the things, stack when to stack and don't be in front of the boss".

That was the only good part of this roulette.

Both tanks kept fighting for aggro, top it all off, they kept turning the boss towards the party (or not even bothering to turn the boss away from the party). I know Sephi has that one move that targets a party member, so I'm not counting that attack. We don't even make it to the adds phase before wiping. Half the party leaves the trial. I look at the time, notice that it's after midnight and decide to just eat any penalties I may incur and just go to bed.

I'm constantly having to remind folks, especially in Crystal Tower, that just because you out-level and out-gear it doesn't mean that you can get away with ignoring mechanics.

If she's in the middle of an attack when she hits the percentage the last add should spawn, she'll finish the attack, then spawn the add. If you keep pushing her and she hits the "time to eat" percentage and the last add just spawned and is at full health, she will kill your party. I don't think it's possible to get her too low to have her eat the other adds upon spawn but hey, you never know. I just know I tend to be careful attacking the boss after the second set just because I know chances are, the last add will spawn after an attack or two.

I've that happen to me a couple of times. First time it happened we were all "Uh lolwut". Luckily I had heard about it happening from a couple of FC mates & I reply with "Uh, I think that we were too awesome & we pushed a phase." This game isn't as forgiving in pushed phases as, say, WoW is. Been careful ever since.

Did 60 roulette as SCH today... got a bard that actually sang Foe's for me.

My friend asked to go in Weeping City with him. Well, 2 wipe against Forgall and half people only leave after spam Vote Abandon without sucess.

Second time, 1-2 wipe in each boss and we done. But I continue very useless against last boss. Alliance C won alone against lasts 15%.

By the comments, people who did Coil of Bahamut find easy.

So this made me laugh. So I do weeping for the first time. It took about two different groups. One vote abandoned on Ozma, the second one cleared with one minute left. So the loot appears. There was BLM Gloves, The Healer Chest, One coffin lid and three cards of the boss.
So I roll on the Coffin lid and get a 95. I'm so happy I'm gonna have the coffin lid.

..I get out rolled. So I just greed everything since I didn't want to come back in there for another piece this week.
I think I rolled a 75 on the gloves and some low number on the healer chest piece. I think it was in the 20s or 30s.
I win no cards but something drops into my inventory. I assume its the gloves.
Next day I'm ready to hop on my blm and glamour my gloves and I can't find them.
I check my inventory and.. knock knock, whos there? The Healer Chest piece from Weeping.
I wonder what glamour works for this. How did I win this? I thought the healer would have wanted it. Or someone else. xD Guess thats one thing I like about lock outs. Folks don't like to risk their lock out so its easy to get stuff for alts. :3

But oh, Final Steps. It's funny. Everyone talks about the DPS check, but absolutely no one ever mentions the healer check that comes in the form of Akh Morn. I have seen so many healers who somehow think that their DPS takes priority over ressing me. DPS get shat on constantly for not meeting the DPS check, but nobody ever blames the healer for not being able to heal past Akh Morn even when all the DPS have done their jobs properly.

Oh, healers get called out...Even when it wasn't something that was within our control. Steps just ended up one of those fights where it tends to be all or nothing in regards to healing. Not enough people alive for Akh Morn? Healers can't keep people alive. Is it the healers fault people are dead? Depends on how well people are dodging, because a lot of the mechanics will cause a lot of issues if people don't dodge.

However, if everything is going right, Akh Morn is awesome to heal against. Maniacal laughter from the fact that this rather terrifying ability was basically neutered by proper mechanics makes it one of the most satisfying things I've done this patch.

Actually, Steps reminds me of Urth's Font, thinking about it. None of my fights people really complained about failing the DPS check, even if we did fail (there was one, but that was the same DPS check everyone kept eating the damage debuff...). Even the comments people made were less "DPS was bad" and more "Too many people with weakness."

Got Final Steps of faith in my duty roulette might have been the worst dps I have ever seen, after getting killed to every AOE for first few runs we got to add phase and none of the adds were below 75% before he did his ultimate, mercifully we vote abandon after that.
