Yea, that was a big waste of time. I'm just not sure what their thought process is with this whole housing thing.

Some of the suggestions in here are good, like a random delay for relinquishment to curb the mafia that is happening on some servers. The thing is it's mostly people on the 3 or 4 most populated (overpopulated imo) servers that are having problems. I waited over a year to buy my first house. I get that it was horrible to see them all wiped out before you could even log in. Honestly I thought it would happen on my server (Diabolos) due to this forum and the length of time I waited for my first one to be up for purchase. This is purely a congested server problem though. I checked last night and Mist was all purchased. There are probably a dozen still left in the Beds. Over half of the new plots are still open in Goblet this morning. None of this helps you in the overcrowded servers but my point is the developers aren't seeing a general problem. It's just like trying to buy real estate in NYC. Lots of people all jammed into one space and there isn't enough to go around.
I've seen people suggest instanced housing. Please, no. That would take out the very thing a lot of us like about the current system. We can wander the wards and see what other players have done. If it has major curb appeal, I'll usually go inside to see what they have created. Instanced housing would ruin that. If you want instanced just get a room at your FC home or wait for apartments.
"I can't garden". Yep, that bites. They could introduce that though without ruining current housing. Flower pots are a nice start. now just let us cross them, just not at often as a normal plot.
"I can't do airship missions". Neither can I unless I go to my FC. I will agree on one point someone made. Maybe house size should (have been) designated to the type of buyer. Smalls for individuals. Mediums for FC with say 5-20 members. Larges for 20+. Could it be cheated? Probably. The mafia thing would most likely be curbed. Too late for that though.
Point is that very few things need to be changed to the housing for most of the servers, IMO. I'm looking through stained glass windows from inside my house on my lower pop server though. I don't know what the big deal is being on a larger server. The raid scene I get. PUGs are a tough gig. I'd like some enlightenment on the RP (what's that) server.
Not meaning to offend anyone.

or something like this a patio garden box :

Good way for people without a house but personal room, or apartment room or whatever and still garden with crossbreeding.
This ones a total bummer tho I really wished SE would allow at least some personal airship stuff >_> even if its limited like only one airship or less mats brought back or something."I can't do airship missions". about grading house sizes based on type of buyers cant really agree with that
I busted my ass of to grab a medium one as a personal house even risked letting my old small plot go beforehand. i just found the small one to small for my personal taste (with how I want to decorate it)

I logged in this morning and there are still mediums in the Beds. It's irritating me a little because I could have afforded one but I bought 3 smalls instead (provided gil for) for myself and a couple family members who were on the fence about even owning one. My train of thought was now or never for you guys. The extra space in a Medium is definitely nice though. I guess I should be happy for them instead of wishing I would have spent it all on myself. Who knows, maybe once apartments come out I'll have enough saved up to upgrade, provided someone abandons a medium. Wishful thinking, right?
