What will the glamour Egi look like

XIV isn't like XI. XIV is more like WoW where every class has to have around the same amount of skills and gameplay elements, there's nothing really unique that sets them apart (like the BLU system of equipping skills/PUP changing Automaton attachments in XI). Not sure why we should expect different this far in the game.

Summoner already has more skills than any other class because of pet skills.

Look at it this way, the same team who would have to design unique skills and animation for every single new primal that would become an egi is the same team in charge of new skills for existing jobs and new jobs, creating new skills for all 3 carbuncles, ramuh, shiva, levi, moogle, bis, ravana, thor, seph [insert all future primals until XIV closes] is a much higher workload than making new classes, and all that work just for one class, for summoner, that already has their own new skills being added with expansions?

Just for the sake of keeping things balanced between the classes, new egis and new animations with the same 4 skill functions per type of egi is pretty good.

And what ever happened to the whole "free-roaming primal that free companies can capture and summon" thing that was talked about a loooooooong time ago?

Bit curious as to where that bit was mentioned, especially since it seems to go against the established lore we know about primals.

They gave up on the free roam and went with the hunt system instead. And they worked the lore and basic main scenario of WoL hunting Summon Beasts AKA Primals because they suck up Aether like a vacuum to live and doing that is bad for the huge rock goddess.

So basically scrapped concept.

You got the same amount of skills as eveeeeeeeeerybody else, if not flashier :l you're getting something that's job exclusive to you and it doesn't seem any of the summoners are happy ffs :l As a scholar, I'd kill and be thankful for some faerie glamours

This, I'd love to have some fairy glamours too! I know it was never mentionnd that SCH would get more but ffs, we only have 2 choices!

I'm hoping they make use of the offhand slot for Summoner (and Scholar), then change Summon, Summon II, and Summon III to require an item in the offhand slot, sort of like how Shield Bash requires Paladin to have a Shield equipped.

Then, whatever item you have equipped in that offhand slot determines what you summon... So you equip the item that corresponds to Carbuncle, you'll summon Carbuncle... Equip the item that corresponds to Ifrit, you summon Ifrit-Egi, meaning you can have a tank or mage version of him... Would be a change to Arcanist, rather than Summoner, meaning it translates to Scholar as well for a healing Carbuncle, which is fine by me... Wouldn't mind more fairy options as well, which should actually be much simpler to do than new Egi, given how much more basic fairy animations are...

I don't expect that kind of quality from whatever SE has planned for Egi-Glamours though... I'ma be mighty disappointed... Probably just going to talk to a NPC to switch out what we summon and they'll cripple future Egi by only letting us swap say Garuda for Ramuh...

my first mmo with pets was wow vanilla there also bug for pet there

but people cry on forum the pets where to powerful or to strong.

the big cats where able find rogue and stuff attack them when they sleath it remind me Drizzt panther that he had help him find Crystal tower in S.A salvotor book

it was when 1.0 was still active and all we had for 2.0 was screen shots and roadmap / blog posts and plans. would have to do a lot of digging to find it.

This is what I fear. If its certain skins for the 3 roles then the whole system is a wasted resource. The system should hopefully allow us to use ANY primal egi for any role. I don't personally like Titan but lets say they use Shiva as another tank egi, that would be pretty lame because I would never be able to use her. (Just as an example)

Being able to choose freely which one we want is hopefully what they are planning. WE CAN HOPE!

I really hope Scholar get to glamour the fairies as well. I would love an healing carbuncle but at this point I don't thnk Scholars will get anything at all. If that happens, I am retiring my book once again. It would be really lame to be stuck with two fairies.
