I question whether I'm playing a PvE game with PvP mixed in, or I am I playing a PfG.

You got the same amount of skills as eveeeeeeeeerybody else, if not flashier :l you're getting something that's job exclusive to you and it doesn't seem any of the summoners are happy ffs :l As a scholar, I'd kill and be thankful for some faerie glamours


the egi being job exclusive isn't really a good argument because it is really just a dumbed down version of what summoner could be... not to mention the egi don't feel epic or even look good in any way. Ideally summoner should have a multitude of summon choices but instead we get restricted to three bare bones floating blobs. Even carbuncle looks better than an egi.
I am thankful for some kind of glamour system being implemented but I still don't get why they didn't just redo the models as well. And what ever happened to the whole "free-roaming primal that free companies can capture and summon" thing that was talked about a loooooooong time ago?
Bit curious as to where that bit was mentioned, especially since it seems to go against the established lore we know about primals.


it was when 1.0 was still active and all we had for 2.0 was screen shots and roadmap / blog posts and plans. would have to do a lot of digging to find it.


This, I'd love to have some fairy glamours too! I know it was never mentionnd that SCH would get more but ffs, we only have 2 choices!
XIV isn't like XI. XIV is more like WoW where every class has to have around the same amount of skills and gameplay elements, there's nothing really unique that sets them apart (like the BLU system of equipping skills/PUP changing Automaton attachments in XI). Not sure why we should expect different this far in the game.


Summoner already has more skills than any other class because of pet skills.
Look at it this way, the same team who would have to design unique skills and animation for every single new primal that would become an egi is the same team in charge of new skills for existing jobs and new jobs, creating new skills for all 3 carbuncles, ramuh, shiva, levi, moogle, bis, ravana, thor, seph [insert all future primals until XIV closes] is a much higher workload than making new classes, and all that work just for one class, for summoner, that already has their own new skills being added with expansions?
Just for the sake of keeping things balanced between the classes, new egis and new animations with the same 4 skill functions per type of egi is pretty good.
