Multi missile always hit multiple enemies so you already neutered it.Had a thought and it might be a bit too far fetched and extreme but hear me out
Why can't the Blue Mage be like the Arcanist and how you can branch out to either be a Summoner or a Scholar? and you can have 3 types of job crystals for the blue mage depending on what you want to do. All jobs have their own story quest lines though so never thought about how that would work when you come back to NPC at level 45 and say "okay, I wanna be a DPS blue mage now, can we start over?"
On another note, little idea for how one particular spell can work, missile can be the Blue Mage's (Tank) shield lob spell.
Devs also said SMN/SCH branch was a mistake.
The 3 job crystal branches could work but then all the other classes will want that as well.
I wonder if this is a mistake they could ever correct, though since I'd assume Scholar would be the one being made into a standalone since in the stat bonuses you'd give them mind it would need a full rework so it has a full compliment of abilities.
If they did I also assume Arcanist / Summoner would receive tweaks to their abilities, like physick being moved over as an example. Though would this ultimately stop Summoner being a dps that can battle res.
There's one side of me that hopes by the 4.0 expansion or more likely the 5.0 one that they rebuild the job system and phase out and remove the class system
There's no denying how much of a hole SE have dug themselves with this.
True but I was just throwing the idea up in the air because the Blue Mage has such a diverse set of spells it can practically be anything, most people who know about the Blue Mage could see this but yeah you're right about everyone else wanting it. Dark Knights be screaming they wanna be a DPS class again.
Nay! I don't know why something with Knight in name and heavy armor (or maybe you imagine Knight in something lighter? Even DRG armor is too light) with badass heavy sword would have to move rear and sides like monkey to deal damage.
I know no DRK by main, that would scream they would like to be DPS.

And yet Dragoons are technically dragon Knights :P
A badass, heavy sword that cuts like a butter knife. I imagine my feet armor would hit harder.Nay! Then again since you seem to be a Lalafell as a DRK you really will be carrying a butter knife.
