Highlander name

One thing I noticed about Highlander npcs, is you almost never see their surname mentioned in their nameplate, it only usually is shown if that npc is in a battle, e.g. Mylla the Guildmistress of the GLA's Guild's surname is 'Swordsong', but the player is not shown that until she participates in duties with the player during the GLA class quests.

Is that her surname, or is it her gladiator title?
