Wow. That's not how I read it at all. It's hard enough with the vagueness from devs but we also have to deal with translations, sigh.
Hold on, there. It's doesn't say anything about level 1. It doesn't say anything about leveling jobs at all. It just explains how you can start to "use" a job. This is different than I imagined. So basically get a Class to 30 to unlock that Class' Job, which you will have to level up again from level 1.
I kinda thought they would unlock at 50 and start at 50, but that was all assumption. In any case, this makes it easier to get the Job you want and gives those who have already leveled to 50 something new to level.
It would be unwise to insert your assumptions.

I'll give Yoshida credit for trying to go an extra mile, but was stupid of him to advertise this if he was only going to communicate to the JP players over the live feed.
All we can do is assume, since like you said, all they said is "use."
Whether I understood or not, I saw some stuff and some things and I'm content. Everyone needs to stop being so negative.
yeah I was like. """"yeah not gonna watch it"
They had a twitter feed posting the Q&A's in English as fast as they could get them out. What more could you expect? It's a live event for Japan. These aren't magical gnomes. This is a Japanese game, with a Japanese dev team.
This entire topic, and all you complainers just make me feel bad for being American. It's like you feel entitled to everything and just complain when it doesn't go the way you expected.
Then put them in an official Q and A instead of advertising a feed on the english section of the site that's only in japanese?
Yoshida mentioned that jobs will be advanced via quests and achievements not via leveling.
Why can't I give thumbs down to people? WHY?
