Just got out of an A6N. I was running SCH (i213, Gordian Codex) and had a SCH partner (i230+, Hyperconductive Tetrabiblos).

Naturally, I was the main healer to the tune of the only healing that my healing partner used the entire instance was Embrace and Energy Drain. I had Eos out as usual since I never trust DF healers. And I don't mind if the other healer only does DPS. I can solo-heal all of Midas Normal on SCH without issue.

But...

At the end of each encounter, the other SCH would end with DPS comparable to mine. 300 v 2000 HPS with 650 v 600 DPS on Vortexer, for instance. Like. I don't care if my healer partner is super over-geared and wants to DPS and force me to be the heal slave. That's fine. But if you're gonna do that, don't be shit, basically. It's really frustrating to be forced into the main healer role and then nearly beat out your 0-healing off-healer in every fight. Like. It makes me wonder what they were doing, since it implies the two of us hit essentially the same amount of DPS skills in the encounter AND I pressed a bunch of healing skills, too. What were they doing during the times I was healing? Hmm.

I notice many times in the cleric healer chicken game, that other person actually ends up being pretty sad on the healer DPS front. Nowadays with materia slots everywhere, you can tell if a Scholar is somewhat serious about DPS if they have any ACC melds.

Probably just tossed up DoTs, refreshed, stood around and called it day. If they really were trying every GCD they would be doing something, like being an Aetherflow menace and even Dissipate when they can.

Last night, I paid a little visit to Akh Afah (Hard) for the first time in a long while. I partied up with someone because they were looking for people, and it was late, and I happened to be one of the two hardest jobs to recruit (healer).

We get there, and I ask: Hey guys, it's been a while for me, are there any one-shots I should watch out for? =3

Party: Nope, burn her down! =)

Me: Okay.

Me: 0_0 **heal, heal, heal, ...rez... heal?**

It was pretty scary. We made it through, but... yeah...

It was pretty scary. We made it through, but... yeah...

xD Less about one shots and probably more about the fact that either people forgot to spread out for player targeted ice blast AoEs or for some reason they were standing in front of Shiva during Cleave. Or maybe MT thought Cleave needed to be soaked by raid because that's the actual mechanic in EX, but it's straight and powerful damage in HM.

Either way /comfort Those parties are always the greatest fun and most heart-attacking BS ever >>;

That was my instinctive guess, too ^^; That the tank hadn't been in Hard mode in a long while either and forgot you don't turn her towards the party when she pulls out her sword... ^^;

Oh many of us tanks have done it before, Shiva EX and hard cleaves mixed-up cause I'm guilty too. Used to farm extreme a lot that I literally forgot hard mode. You distinctively remember EX mechanics because during the add phase you had to the same thing again, turn-her around while everyone is on the adds and the swords again in last phase.

It's like look out or die. Then you go back to hard, aww yes I can eat this!

On my case I usually dont forget that sword mechanic on shiva, so its always a good laugh to see a dps step a bit too into the front and get themselves mauled for trying to help...

On a horror story!!

It was my first time ever healing in DF at 60, got Sephiroth Normal.... I was a PLD
We did clear but in the end it was only the tanks that were alive... I still feel the shame of have killed my friend ;-;

Just left an expert roulette at the second pull. I usually run that dungeon every other day, I always do it as scholar and it never gave me issues.
Today's tank was weak. And I mean *weak* even if they were trying. We wiped twice, all the fault was apparently *mine*, not of dps not actually killing monsters and the tank going down as soon as I dared to look in another direction. And mind you, I'm not angry with the tank, I'm annoyed with the dps who at the first wipe started bothering me saying 'weak' and being 'utterly disappointed'.
So, not a real nightmare and I hope they got another healer but duh- I barely have time to do anything during the week, I don't want to fight against people and it really bothers me having to eat 20 mins of penality in the hope to get my daily clear.

about a month-ish? ago.... DFed into Seph HM for funsies on AST, a few times..... nothing too eventful - Decided to DF in one more time into Seph and-

SUDDENLY-
A Sephirot to the faces.

Someone had pulled, long range, before the other healer and I could finish buffing or doing what we needed to do.... he killed the other healer, the tanks, a DPS or two? and I'm benefic/helios spamming the daylights out of the DRG and everyone, with Lightspeed, that ended up tanking him.... All I remember was the DRG tanking him for a little bit of time (besides Seph bouncing around between people), since I remember thinking "whelp, DRG does have the armor of the DPSes....? >.> Just please don't tank the floor, too ;-;" and the healer being one of the first to go splat. x.x The finer details are too hard to remember.... everyone's just a bouncing lifebar when I'm panicking with a giant boss in my face o_o

It was an obscene heart attack, and was hoping the whole time that I wouldn't grab hate with my required heal spams between the DRG tanking, the tank busters and the AoE stomps (just in time to take a tank buster to the face, I'm sure) but we managed to get our feet back under us and regroup, amidst the fight x_x
And I won't lie... it was fun as hfjdks :x

I find it fun when an easy fight suddenly jumps to unpredictability....
