    Drk materia help plz

I got into a static again and now I'm taking the game a little more seriously. What materia should I be melding to drk? I can't fit anymore vit on it so do I go with crit, determination, str, or......parry? I'm using the lore weapon for now. I'm still working on my nothung by doing all my beastmen dailys so I'm getting more grade 4 materia than I know what to do with. I've either been selling it or converting it hoping to get grade 5's or craftsmen/gatherer materia.

Putting all STR into your Right side is pretty nice so far for me.
DRK doesn't have much of a TP issue even as an OT, so Skill Speed would be beneficial for your left side.

Depending what the equipment allows you to meld prioritize the melds in this order str/vit > crit > det > ss.
Unless you use grade 4 materia then its ss > det due to the low amount of stats det materia below grade 5 gives, rest stays same order

Expanding on this, the basic priority is:

STR to cap > ACC to cap > CRT V > DET V > CRT IV > SKS V > SKS IV > DET IV

from a strict stat weight perspective.

Crit's around 0.15 and sks is 0.12 no? Because that's what the JP's put it at roughly, which would put SkS V > Crit IV.

As for SkS (det's usefulness runs inverse to a classes resource regen), you need to ask yourself 3 questions.

1.) How often am I out of grit? If I'm in it often, I'll need more SkS to keep my gcd's all nice and aligned for maximum scourge efficiency.

2.) How often am I animation cancelling/double oGCD'ing? If I'm doing that a lot, less SkS is more beneficial because I can pull double ogcd's (such as CnS>DP) easier.

3.) How often do I have resource problems? Dark Knight OT (not so much MT), has very fluid resource control. That is to say, it's resource will decrease at a slow, constant rate without much spike. It's also a gentle slope (unlike PLD), with some recovery options (ala the Un-spells). Because of this, Drk can be a lot free-er with the use of SkS, like Brd/BLM/War can, due to their capacity to regenerate their resources with ease. As you see on classes like PLD/NIN/DRG/MNK(rip), excess SkS can be detrimental to long fights where they either have high tp spenders or poor ways to recover tp efficiently (or monk who just burns through it).

4.) How much weight do I put into blood weapon? If you rely heavily on blood weapon to regenerate mp, you will want more SkS to certain caps. If you're say, 0.3ish seconds off of another GCD in blood weapon, then investing in the SkS may be worth it, for the tp control/the mp regenerated. Conversely, if you place LESS important on the extra 263? mp from that gcd, it might be worth REDUCING SkS in order to maximize crit/det(eww) so that the extra SkS is not wasted.

I hope this helped OP. (But just meld Crit for daiyz).

I'm weird: I do Parry and SkS.

We'll see how long that lasts when my Midas static starts in a couple weeks.

That's what I've been doing. STR V full right side, then Crit V left side everywhere that can take it, DET V where it can't.

I burned up the rest of my Vs trying advanced meld my i220s which some said was dumb, but hwat else would I do with them? Thinking about Crit IVs now since they are strong for a IV, not much difference from V.

Oh, yes I am. Forgot to mention that. The DPS gain as a result of Str is far more worthwhile for enmity generation and even mitigation-by-proxy than any secondary stat. If there's one thing they accomplished, it's that primary stats are pretty much always worth taking over secondaries.
