I posted the link to show an outside view of FFXIV. I accept FFXIV is far from perfection but I love the direction the current team is taking it. Sadly, this game is going to need new players, at some point, to continue going. That video is the mindset that SE is going to have to fight against when the PS3 release comes out.

Exactly. Is there ANYONE besides the 30-50k people currently playing the game that have anything good to say about the game?

To be fair, anything on Penny-Arcade isn't always the brainchild of Jerry and Mike like Check Point and Extra Credits.

I still haven't been able to process the idea of EC being on Penny-Arcade. I still like their stuff though.

I don't think I've seen anyone hit on stuff like APB going back to the shop or the relative failure of DC Universe Online. It really does seem that the current hotness is to wail on Square-Enix.

At this point it's going to take A LOT more than more public promotion of the game by square to change people's minds about it. It's really hard for people to change their first impression.

Basically, you either like this game or you don't and have no reason to start.

Personally, I really like this game, flaws be damned! I'm excited to see where it's going and as long as the servers stay up I don't care how much the outside (and inside) communities hate and trash it, misinformed or not.

Actually, all it takes is a public mention of a game overhaul, lots of public interviews and in-game demos.
