I've done the same thing before on accident , and I've seen a war get this from using holmgang. We both got abused of course. It sucks , but hey gg.Speaking of accidents, it's really difficult to keep track of the enemy's coins if you have a smaller resolution due to how big the UI window is. I ended up the other day killing a Black Mage who had quite a few coins, I was at 100, and they dropped over 150, taking me from 0 stacks to 10 stacks. The healer blamed me, but I was without information, and even if I had that information, I would have grabbed those coins anyway, since I, as a tank, am the one most likely to survive.
I'm trying to make it a thing to stop at 4 stacks, but somehow out of stupidity or being in the wrong place at the wrong time, I end up with 10
I'm lucky to have won those.
But yeah after 4-5 it's ideal to throw up your tanking stance and use CDs as necessary.
The first bag you gonna get is gonna put you at 1 stack, the second at 4.
Carefull tho, if you guyz kill 2 times the same guy, the second bag is gonna put you at only 2 stacks, and if you get an other full one at 2 , you gonna grow directly to 7. So even at 2 at some point, use your macro and split the medals, this is key. If nobody wants to pick them, or you pick them and become useless and unhealable, or you just let the other team retrieve their medals, which is dumb. If one of your mate died allready, he should get his medals bck, he won't get stacks.

Seriously. I hate macros. I despise that little sound notification that pops up whenever people think they have something important to say, but this is the ONE THING IN THE GAME that has made me seriously consider setting one up. Typing in the chat box during the heat of the moment (especially when you're at your highest vulnerability) is time consuming and inconvenient, but without that notification a lot of players will ignore medal drops. I almost never recommend macro usage, but this is the one time I'd say it's almost mandatory.
Sometimes it's unavoidable. YOU might be actively aiming for 4 stacks, but you can't control what the enemy is doing.
I once played a match where I had 1 or 2 stacks, we downed the healer, and I automatically jumped on their body for what I assumed would be my 4th and final stack ... only to end up with 8. What in they flying hell the enemy healer was doing with that many stacks all to themselves is beyond me, but it totally caught me off guard. I had to play ring around the rosie for the rest of the match to stay alive. It was no the way I would have preferred to go about it, but I didn't have much choice.
even if you let a coin like this to dps, it can be messy as well too, so tank can avoid to take more but can be easily trolled by overstacked enemy.
I got jump from 2 to 7 stacks by killing a blm today.
The log say how much medals is dropping, but when you see this, a dps will take it and get killed after ? a dps will take it anyway ?
In further thinking, I realize we can see how many an enemy drops in the chat log, but again, that is a rather small area of the screen and one you're not likely going to be looking at unless something draws your attention to it.Speaking of accidents, it's really difficult to keep track of the enemy's coins if you have a smaller resolution due to how big the UI window is. Something... something... edginess... shadows... wait... I'm supposed to be a paragon of love and justice!
Checking in the heat of the moment can definitely be a troublesome. To save myself the eyestrain, I try to anticipate how many medals will be dropped. In most cases It comes down to making educated guesses on how many medals will be dropped based on which player it is and how many times they've been killed. There's always those "SURPRISE!" moments, though. Keeps the match interesting lol.
someone realy adviced (he is in top ten of my datacenter) said to me even if someone don't take the coin don't go for it if you already stacked 4 as tank.
he is right it totaly don't worth it, we better have to leave the coin and try to get a other kill. exept maybe if we are in the last second and we need the coin to win.
