Maybe not to you, but this is a slap in the face to those that just bought the PS4 and a future headache for game developers thta now have to make two versions for the same game just because Sony wanted to make a unnecessary(subjective) upgrade. And no, they haven't upgraded consoles in this way. Sure the PS1/PS2/PS3 upgrades might have ran smoother, didn't overheat as much or were physically slightly different, but there wasn't a literal hardware change like this.
