Otherwise, new composers are always welcome. For more diverse and non-linear games, I would prefer a collaboration amongst composers. FFXI is one; FFXII also. FFXIII-2 sounds promising as well, with Naoshi Mizuta moving onto that project along with Mitsuto Suzuki and Masashi Hamauzu.

Regardless of who created the additional tracks or did arrangements, I love them so far. Makes a wonderful addition to the FFXIV current soundtracks, which is of equal merit, though not the best implemented in-game. They suffered due to little concept given behind it, and Nobuo Uematsu has to be commended from making so many tracks from just a few pictures for the initial launch. Not to mention he composed all the area themes which will end up being repetitive no matter what you do to them.

I wonder how the new tracks will fit in; they'll certainly be implemented better if the concept ideas were given to the composers. From the sounds of it, they'll suit a much tighter range of events each and more focused on a different aspect rather than the current soundtracks "all rounder" kind of feel. Glad to see they kept the rock end music for the lower-levelled stuff, while the higher-levelled stuff gets the more classic styled music.

    Track by track analysis -

0-0:20 - Chocobo theme (for personal use? The rental chocobo piece is near the end.)
0:20-0:30 - Lots of bass drums. o.o Wonder what it'll be used for. Running away? Tribal dancing?
    0:30-0:41 - Sad theme....death?
0:42-0:53 - Sounds like a hurry theme mashed with an action one.
0:53-1:03 - Revelations? Discovery of something important. o.o
    1:04-1:18 - Something evil approaches....
1:19-1:35 - Probably some Grand Company event theme
    1:35-1:50 - Grand Company event theme #2
    1:50-2:11 - U'Ghamaro Mines
    2:11-2:27 - Zahar'ak
2:27-2:47 - Ifrit fight battle, theme for all primal fights. Named "Primal Judgement".
2:47-2:57 - Some kind of ending to a quest?
    2:57-3:07 - Ending music #2
    3:08-3:21 - Chocobo theme (rentals)
    3:21-3:25 - Fanfare #2

Did Natalan's battle theme get taken, or did it get shifted to a later patch? Hmm....I wonder.

    Hihi, Nuru.
Go through the OST, you'll noticed those tracks are the same, but they are just rearranged to fit the world.

Hmmm...I am. Currently, the only one I find similar is the Zahar'ak one; everything else that's new seems to be that; newly composed. Which ones do you think are remixed/rearranged? So far, only two arrangements I can hear of; Zahar'ak and chocobo.

    And I'm glad they're trying to make it fit the world as well. It's definitely an improvement from what they did to poor Uematsu-san and a few pictures. ;_;

U'Ghamaro Mines is a slower + Remixed version of the music that plays in the opening movie when they fight the morbol.
