Different worlds community, how to know?

Behemoth has a serious community, sure you can find a group to raid with but in general everyones alittle too serious over here :L We're populated but its not lively and nothing fun happens like the stuff you see on other servers :\ wouldnt recommend Behemoth.

Jenova is very hard to classify, we have very little raiders, elitist here and there, farm groups almost all times of the day, some rp, nice chuck of solo players, very little crafters and gatherers. It's not a very helpful server in my book, everyone wants Gil for helping one another, we've had a few people that were very helpful and wanted the community to grow but they couldn't put a dent into the world. I guess it's more a make it what you want kinda server, if I didn't own a house with two friends, I'd of paid to leave this server as my alts on other servers have turned out to be much better experiences.

Ragnarok is a High Raiding community and we are one of the most populated servers on the EU side. I dont raid much, but I can tell you that the players that I have met the past few years are very kind and helpfull.

There aren't very many raiders, but there is decent gatherer activity. As for crafters, the ones that do exist are generally quite accommodating if you talk to them. (And you probably should, since their MB listing prices are pretty bad.)

I'm not sure what you mean by "everyone wants gil for helping one another" when there hasn't been any run sales in months (Speaking as a run seller here, the demand has been pretty dry; the last sale run I've been in was for A1S back in January. Demand is dry because PF parties are more popular, albeit with varying success rates.) and there are people offering free melds in the PF every day. Nobody's charging for help in the Novice Network either. Can you clarify your statement?

You want me to clarify how a mass amount of Jenova is greedy and wants compensation for helping anything, yet you sell runs. If you haven't even seen the vast party finders advertising that they will pay off people in order to get bird drops, people were asking for Gil from players who didn't have airships yet to get into diadem, the absurdity of the people who pay players to sign fc start ups, asking for Gil to join linkshells, hell a few nights ago someone was selling their email address so they can forward the notification as to when their house is set to be demolished.

It also makes no sense as to having more gatherers than crafters, as they go hand in hand and based off the supply of mats we don't have much of either, I'm in one of the main crafting and gathering request linkshells and it's very silent most of the time as players are either only selling directly or only helping their fcs.

The few people offering free melds are doing it because for about a good 3 weeks we had tip required melds popping up because people felt they could grab some easy Gil off lore and Alex gear. Yet you never see anyone giving away free leve items like we had back in 2.0 or any of the old Jenova server community events.

Jenova has been going downhill faster and faster each patch, that's of course like I said unless you have the abilities to make the server great for you, which some people do not have.

I've been looking all around trying find (hopefully) a general listing of how each world's community is. For say, such'n'such world is primarily end gamers & elitists, but this'n'that is full of arsfarts & numbnuts. Trying to find a world that my wife n I will fit in and connect with without too many, you know. Though, I do understand that every world is gonna have that 1 (or more) guy! Any help, info, opinions and thoughts would be quite helpful. Thx.

As a denizen of Coeurl, I can tell you with a straight face that we are pretty far removed from hardcore. There are a few out there that do progression, but mostly we are the pony and BURB farmers that like to have a good time.

Very true. Coeurl is a wonderfully, laid back server full of nice people. Sort of a Key Largo-like server.
