so bottom line is, in the current state of things, MCH is superior. But as long as you can stomach that, bard isn't in any way shape or form bad.

No Bard isn't bad in any ways, just need a little buff on his DPS but nothing crazy, Ninja needs a little DPS buff as well (t's not only bard that is currently falling behind other jobs atm) also changing shadowbind to become a Heavy (You can keep the 40 second recast and the fact that it does no damage) would be a needed addition or if you want bot hMCH and BRD to keep their Binds, you can change a skill that is a bit usefull but won't change the class to much by changing repelling shot into a skill that gives heavy or stun, or just rename repelling shot to Repelling Trap, same recast, same potency but inflicts heavy / stun. In the end the potency would be lower than the MCH, Bard would only have one of the 2 debuff with higher recast timer, that should make everyone happy.

Considering the potency and recast time of Repelling shot it wouldn't be a huge overboost if it kept its escape ability function but had heavy/stun as a bonus. It would put BRD on par with MCH both in PvE and PvP but the need for a slight DPS buff would still remain.
There is no reason not to buff BRD to be on par with MCH (as there was no reason not to buff MCH to be on par with BRD, the problem is, they overdid it). If someone belives that BRD should be now worse because MCH was worse for much longer, so be it, but that is no logical or relevant reason, that is just some wish for weird kind of revenge.
Even when lots of FFlog informations are padded, pads happen both on MCH's and BRD's side so I would still call them somehow relevant and what is the most relevant is the fact that the number of MCHs in endgame teams is double the number of BRDs (123 BRDs/325 MCHs in A7s, 299 BRDs/551 MCHs in A6s). Why do you think that happens? Because MCH looks cooler? Probably not.
In higher Alexander Savage turns the numbers of BRDs get lower and lower, the DPS check in A5s is nonexistent so it doesn't matter, but in later turns the DPS check gets more rough and people seem to switch to MCHs.
Well even if I decided not to use FFlogs as an example and used just my own experience, at this moment I know around 5 statics that have cleared A6s or are atleast at 50% of Vortexer (not including mine), 4 of them have MCH, one has BRD, but the BRD is currently doing MCH relic and improving himself as a MCH so he can switch.
Personal opinions on what is better (BRD x MCH) are nice and sweet but in this case, it would be nice to stay a bit more statistical (statistics don't lie, atleast in this case).
