Yeah, I figured it was redundant to quote you because your's was the most recent post. Anyway, that's really interesting because you'd certainly expect to get Belah'dian Silver or Aged Eye of Fire back once in a while. But I guess it really has no practical application because it wouldn't be worth the trouble just for FCIII.
Ha, yeah, I noticed. Rounding's a funny thing. :P
Is it me, or do Bridesmaid's Sandals not give nearly as many FC3s as they used to?
I've been desynthing a stack of gordian accesories earlier today that i had from farming for my first relic items. It seems they can give the eikon eso bought crafting materials. From about 50 desynths i got 9 eikon metals and 1 eikon iron ingot, all nq. Had quite a few failed desynths so the yield is prop higher.
Hi, I just started crafting not long ago, I am curious about all this desynth stuff. You can only max out 3 I guess? or you can get them all 50% up? Not sure on that part. I assume maxing 3 is better then 50% in them all? If so, what 3 are best for me? From reading this, all I can come up with is weaver, goldsmith, maybe leatherworking for the third? I have no idea!!! If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be awesome!![]()
Be aware that this thread is hopelessly out of date. I don't have the time to update it - it takes quite a lot of research when they make massive changes like they recently did. Yes, you can choose three classes. I strongly recommend against trying to level more than three. In general, the only items worth desynthing are the most recent (highest rlvl) items. The only real exceptions right now, as far as I'm aware, are stopping at LTW dSkill 100 for farming FC3s from sandals and stopping at BSM dSkill 100 for farming MCDs from Artisan mainhands.
In general, I think it's still safe to say that it's nice to have one or more of WVR, ARM, LTW, and GSM so you can desynth at least some gear drops in dungeons (and get stuff like eikon mats). LTW provides a solid way of getting FC3s still (at ~25,000 gil per FC3), but I don't know the current economies to know if there's a better option. Someone above insists that there is a cheaper option in ARM, but I don't know if their math works out. I feel like CUL is really lacking these days, unless you spend tons of time in the game fishing. CRP and ALC have always had the least going for them, but there's more CRP endgame gear now, though I still don't think there's enough, and ALC has a few things going for it (like Aetherial Wheels), but I haven't done the math in a while. I think I'd still recommend choosing three from the following list: LTW, WVR, GSM, BSM, ARM.

Given the thread's activity level, I figure it can't hurt to post whenever I update my data table here: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post3604567
It's gotten quite long, but maybe Nyalia or someone can determine something from it. I don't know what anymore.
On that note, if someone wants to take over doing the research and writing for this thread, I can post their edits to the OP. I don't have time to do economy analysis, run the calculations I used to that determine which items are the cheapest to use to level with current mat prices, or even to gather together the data posted in various places on what newly desynthable items drop what. I don't even log in every week, just enough so I don't lose my house. But, I do check these forums every now and then, and could copy/paste stuff into the OP if someone else wrote it.
If you're interested in updating the thread, send me an email. Posting external personal contact information (like email addresses) on this forum is against ToS, but if you follow the link in my sig to one of the airship logs spreadsheets, you can find contact info for me there.
