Relic: Your progress on the Grind.

Started the 210 step last Sunday (yeah I know, late to the relic hype), at 15/80 now and at least 2 crafters in my FC can craft the HQ's for me. At this rate, I'll be done by the time I have the 5 Aether Oils, but I expect some slow progress later on.

I've been focussing on using my beast tribe tokens (only worked on Vath and Vanu so far, ARR tribes are annoying to level) to get the 210 tokens you can also buy with poetics, since poetics are the harder ones to get by running just roulettes (which I do). I'm not grinding out A1-4, that's just such a big turn-off.

So far, I've managed to get about 1-2 tokens a day (aside from Sunday, when I handed in all my beast tribe tokens which amounted to 8 210 tokens and the few I bought with tomestones). I hope to be caught up when the next stage is released.

Its not really the tokens most people struggle with its the 16 HQ items that on some servers can be really hard to obtain compared to other servers, for example it would cost me a total of 6mil for my relic, or the money needed to meld my Botanist enough to gather diadem mats in order to use and sell them for funds...so either way it ends up costing me a fortune because im more combat based then gather/craft based.

6 mil per relic, what about doing multiple relics? This is where i think SE shot them self in the foot. We have multiple class roles on 1 char to pick GREAT! But the quests and heavenward in General all feel catered to only playing 1 role ever. I really am turned off by doing a 2nd relic after not even doing the 1st one due to the time it takes to aquire everything. It takes ok on avg if done at a casual pace about a month for 210 and 230 part, now you can do both same time so about 5 weeks tops for both bits...now times that by how many classes u need to do it for...

Say you have 3 healers that is 15 weeks to get all 3 relics..

It's super easy to get the materials needed for the crafts so you should never have to spend 6 million for the 16 items. Getting the items HQed might be tough, but 1 week of 2-3 hours a day spent on gathering the required items will give you more than enough materials to craft the 16 items. Not everyone can gather, not everyone can craft but that's where friends come in. And you don't need melds on gatherers to get the items. Left side Red Scrip gear is more than enough. Not everyone has this and fresh level 60 gatherers will struggle to hit the stats, but there are an extremely large amount of people who already had all the Red Scrip gear from 3.0.

Also you never need Relic. People should be getting their Lore weapons now. If they want more weapons for the different jobs, there is always upgraded Esoterics and Sephirot weapons which don't require much time at all.

Anyway I just finished my first 210!

Back on topic - almost at 40 tokens (I did focus on some other games through most of January and part of February, so I very much fell behind on those, and haven't exactly rushed to catch up) and all of the crafts waiting in a retainer's inventory. Not rushing to finish it, but I do expect to have it done by April.

Literally no excuse to not have a gatherer at 60.

I can understand not wanting to craft, and you don't have to since you can just have someone else craft it for you, but you should expect to have to pay a lot for things if you won't even level a gathering profession.

Who said anything about not wanting to craft? I was just pointing out a humorous pattern than when someone complains about the crafted items, someone else tells them it's a super easy step and almost without fail that person has had every crafting and gathering job leveled to 60.

Basically the person saying it is is super easy is basing it on their own experience and not acknowledging that another person's experience can differ based on current circumstances. It's like a cross country runner telling an out of shape person that running a mile is super easy...they can obviously get to the point where it is, but at that time it's not going to be easy for them.

red script gear, no meld needed (only to get 600 GP for script farming)

I decided to do the original relic quest and I've now been grinding fates for the days straight and no atmas. UGH!!! Is there a trial or secret I don't know about LOL. It shouldn't be this hard should it? I got two a week ago and none since.
