Grind is love, grind is life.
I see, guess it was a bad design choice to have a class locked behind a expansion content and the time it takes getting there. Bad thing is you won't be able to experience older things with it when you get it (MSQ) and will have to grind it up again so you can play "normally" =\
The story wasn't that bad, it is just building up for the new expansion. And those quests were done not all at once before the HW was released. Kind of like we are doing MSQ now, a bit at a time with each patch, but the players coming for the 2nd expansion will have to do them in a row. And there might be 100 of those again. There are no 'poor design choices', you follow the story, you get into the new content which unlocks more new things. Just because you have to do it this way, because you are a new player, and are not happy with it, doesn't mean that they should remove it. I think the story is great and that people should experience it and see what the game is about. Plus, MSQ you need to do only once. And as you will be leveling your new job, trust me, you will miss MSQ as you begin grinding FATEs and dungeons (or sidequests, if you are that masochistic).
Yeah, I only wish I could be doing all these MQs with my desired job.The story wasn't that bad, it is just building up for the new expansion. I don't think it's a poor design choice in the need to follow a story so you reach the expansion, almost every game does this and for the sake of story telling it makes sense and it's quite pleasing. What i do think is bad design is locking a class behind it, new players that come in will/may (the OP is a perfect example of this) want to play the new class right away and not "waste" time in others.
Well the job does start at level 30 without requiring you to level any other class to access it. Taking that into account, what would you guys propose, when should one be able to get access to the said job? I do, however, agree it may become problematic if they make it so that with every expansion you need to clear the whole MSQ-lines to access the job. That would make it like 500 MSQs away.I don't think it's a poor design choice in the need to follow a story so you reach the expansion, almost every game does this and for the sake of story telling it makes sense and it's quite pleasing. Why is everyone telling me to take my time!!!
I want it now!!!
"Baby roll"
But you do NEED to level 1 class to at least level 50 to access it, as you can't enter HW any other way. The way it was made you could need to level 1 class to 30, so you unlock Jobs and have access to the new classes (which in fact are just new jobs, not really classes), having it from the start wouldn't make much sense since it starts at level 30. WoW did a similar thing with Death Knight but they later changed the "new class mold" with monk (and also lifted the level requirements for DK), which i think is better way of presenting new classes.Well the job does start at level 30 without requiring you to level any other class to access it. SE has said that they are planning a different path of entry for the next expansion's content that would not involve grinding through all the current content. How they plan on doing that remains to be seen, but it's not going to be the grindfest you're concerned about.Well the job does start at level 30 without requiring you to level any other class to access it.
