    I would increase the ease of getting additional classes to 60 so you have more class types to get gear for. I would then balance out the tome gear with the dungeon gear and make 3 or 4 sets that are similar so you can equip multiple classes. I would make it so they can be improved to just barely below top end raid gear. Now you can farm dungeons for gear, save for tome gear and maybe increase drops from random monsters and notorious monsters for another set. All of which can be upgraded from crafters and other drop items.

    I'm kinda in the same page, is not that I don't like grind, is the monotony of it, the lack of horizontal progression, knowing that it doesn't matter if I don't cap the latest thomes cuz later they will release new ones and the cycle repeat itself. Wih the only real "reward" of getting higher ilvl is to actually ENTER the couple new park rides... is more of a chore than an accomplishment.

    Also as my sign tells I'm an old FFXI player. And yeah, XI had more horizontal and optional progression, felt more open worldy

    Not exactly the case, progression in FFXIV is completely locked down. A lot of MMO's have some good horizontal gear progression, and multiple raids of varying difficulty to obtain the gear. You aren't limited to 4 raids a week (where you don't even get an item per raid) and a 450 cap on currency that can take 3 weeks for a weapon.


    I'm not saying other MMO's don't have lockouts, they do. However the BIS is the lockout, there are multiple other gear options to go for meanwhile that let you gear up your character so essentially you build and replace gear week by week till BIS.

    FFXIV just has zero midcore content, that's its problem, you're either doing braindead dailys with zero difficulty or challenge, or you're in a static. Honestly I just wish they would scale up the previous coils to level 60, increase damage/HP pools and have it drop some relevant gear, make it 220 for all I care, let us get a token for completing each BCOB/SCOB/FCOB and let us exchange that token for 1 piece of gear (or make it 2 tokens per piece I don't care, so that's 3 tokens per week, its not BIS, its only 220, but it diversifies what I can do week on week and lets me go into nostalgia mode on old content. I am not stuck doing alex, I can do Alex/Coil/Tomes.

    Some concept when they used to have the weekly extreme primal quest, complete titan/garuda/ifrit for a weapon.

    Let the old content to be relevant, because its still fun. If the devs pumped out enough new battle content per patch then this wouldn't be needed, but two grind dungeons just so we don't see the same thing every day and a 24 man every 2 patches and 4 new bosses every 4-6 months or so, is dull. Especially with how the game is set up.

    While we're on the subject of daily grind, honesty one of my biggest gripes with this games (daily routine) is the sheer amount of trash.
    Lets take dungeons for example. A dungeon on average, can take roughly 30 minutes in a full random DF group (obviously this varies on group and the dungeon).
    Each boss is about, 3 minutes per boss? So thats about 10 minutes on actual bosses, and 20 minutes on trash mobs. Just boring, trash mobs that we will group together as much as we can and AoE down but with the current love for gates that only open after the mobs are dead, we can't even do what we used to do in brayflox and speed run.

    So, 30 minutes
    10 on bosses
    20 on trash
    Thats one roulette, lets take the rest of em (level 50, level 60, levelling, main scenario)
    5 total dungeons, 30 minutes each, thats 2 and a half hours, with only about 50 minutes on bosses, and 100 minutes running from trash pack to trash pack. Hardly exciting content. That's just ONE DAY.

    I would much rather see dungeons with more bosses, (4/5) and less trash, and they should be clearable in 20 minutes MAX. A quick run in 10-15 with a good group. I'm not even saying these bosses have to all have intricate mechanics they can be praetorium style with barebones mechanics, because at the end of the day I'd rather spend my time killing a boss, then running between trash mobs. Not to mention, why am I killing 1-2 packs of trash mobs in alex raids, just why? What's the point, why even bother. Just let us run to the boss and you can still keep your pretty rail grinding animations in. I'm fine with faust and Co, but trash mobs...for the love of god why? So that I can not use any cooldowns because if I do they won't be up for the boss unless we wait? Just stop. plz, stahp.

    And since I'm on a gripe about roulettes, for the love of god stop making level sync remove skills, jesus christ the dumbest design ever, I would happily go tank for all the new players in low level dungeons if I could just have my skills. I don't want to go back to just spamming flash/overpower in Copperbell, you literally say hey we made this class fun at 60 now lets go back to how boring it was, yay!

    Just came back to the game last friday, after quitting because alexander savage bored the living hell out of me (T9 is still the greatest fight in this game, and I just think the coils were just so much better in terms of end game raiding everything from environments to the gameplay), and honestly I'm already starting to remember why I stopped playing in the first place.
