    I dont know... all i know is that im tired of tome capping. Its for some people, but its not for me.

    I think the whole tomestone system this game has going is horrible. Dungeon tokens are meant to protect against bad luck. Instead, it's the whole system. Tomestone gear trumps any other gear this game offers, and offers no alternatives. And there is only one way to obtain gear. So if you want to be good at this game, you do one braindead easy dungeon a day to gear one class/set of classes.
    Tomestones should just plain give the gear of the current dungeon/raid. 195 gear for Esoterics, 220 gear for Lore. But the Esoteric gear makes the new dungeon gear obsolete, and the Lore gear makes Alexander obsolete, so why bother unless you're gearing alts? And why bother gearing alts if nobody wants a sub-geared person in their party?

    I try gearing all my classes at once, and I cannot get a party. Nobody wants less than 210 for sephirot, which was not possible without massive grinding until recently. But now nobody wants less than 215. I geared everybody with Gordias gear back when it was current, and by the time Gordias was no longer the highest level trial that gear was obsolete.

    Folks have been asking for a while now, for SE to retire tomestone farming and introduce some new, more creative and less *blatantly* grindy ways people can get gear, or perhaps introduce more gear types (with other ways to get them) so people have more choices.

    Yoshi-P's response? Well, they introduced new gear, and a new Tomestone to grind for it. I think that sums it up.

    This is His game, and He will decide exactly how We play it. The only time our opinion was of any consequence to him, or SE, was back when they were desperate to keep/regain our trust, and were bending over backwards to get it.

    Now that they feel like they have it? Heh... well.. yeah... we're not so important anymore, just as long as we keep paying our sub. And nixing the tomestone grind isn't the only thing people have been asking for, which Yoshi-P has basically said "Nope! Not how I want you to play".

    His game, His way, I guess.

    the diadem was a step in the right direction. but sadly they messed up the content by allowing too many people inside the instance and not allowing to roll need if you use the duty finder... oh, and the gatherers...

    they don't need more manpower, they just need to make some small adjustments.

    like tomegear is only ilvl 220 and you can upgrade it to 230, alex normal gear is 220 and upgradeable to 230, void ark gear is 230, dungeongear is 210, craftet gear is 220 but you can overmeld it, diademgear is 230 but can have lots of secondary stats if you have luck and alex savage gear is 240. they can also bring a questline for relic armor. the AF sets are begging for this and it can be just a copypaste of the relic weapon questline with some small adjustments.

    this way you have lots of gear options and the raidgear is really a reward.

    the next patch the tomegear will be 240 and upgradeable to 250, alex normal gear 240.... and so on... this will lead to a headstart for raiders - what they earned with hard work - and the alex savage gear from the last patch has still relevance.

    @OP tired of it myself. Sure I could quit and find a new game, I love the game it would be nice to see new features, new ways of collecting gear. All SE does is recycle everything and try to make them shiny but at the end of the day its the same crap.

    I didn't play any other MMO to its end game, so I have no idea what would be better solutions to this. What would you guys propose to change the current treadmill style? How does WoW handle this? FFXI I believe is too much different, with horizontal gear progression, to be able to compare.

    I mean, I can understand how FFXIV can be tiring with the tomestones, but what would be better ways to implement this?
