Anima Weapons. Putting things into perspective.

Next week I can get a i230 book with 114crit and 80ss, without doing much. The weapon have 2 materia slots.

Or

I can spend 3.5 millions, grind tons of tomestones, spend hours and hours doing roulettes, all of that to get an i210 weapon which I'll need to upgrade to i230 by either grinding even more tomestones or waiting weeks to get these tokens by doing the Crystal Tower again. Which would give me a weapon with 109det and 114ss. The weapons doesn't have materia slots.


In short terms, not only the weapon from option 2 is worse, but it would take such a huge investment that I would probably spend all my playtime doing it.
Well, I guess the Anima weapon, at least for SMN, is still completly crap.

So I'll then eventually do my anima weapon when the questline will eventually receive a nerf making it eventually worth it to do.
I'll assume you spotted the key word in here.

My time and my money will be better spend leveling my crafting classes. By the point where the anima becomes "good enough", I'll probably be able to craft the items myself, making it a way better return on investment than I'd get by keeping up with the current step. Even if it means that I'll need an extra month to make up for being late.

I'm quite sad to say that, and it's disappointing to think of this awesome weapon as "not worth it".
Isn't the point of this weapon to think "Yeah, it's worth it, even if it's a boring chore"?

That's why you do the relic steps when they are released, Silly Billy! For those of us who are actually up to date on this, it's only 9k Esoterics, not counting the free drop you get from doing weekly CT. It's not much of a grind at all.

Sure, I could do it. But again, the weapon is worse than its counterparts. So what's the point? Being in the "server first" race to have a BiS weapon at the end of the expension?
Again, not worth it.
