This is a legitimate problem. If I recognize a healer cause of his name and know he's bad well imma ride that poor bastard into the ground fk his dps. It also does work the other way though as I've seen the same ppl focus me relentlessly even when I have no more medals as a DRG (such an illogical fixation i can only assume its because they recognize my name and either dont like me or see me as too much of a threat to let live).
Yeah this is true but not everyone is gonna bother to do that every game. As it is now you can immediately warn your teammates about your opponents or have otherwise preconceived notions of just hounding a specific player right at the start of the match since you can see their name.

No joke, was watching a PvP stream, and someone recognized me on the enemy team... I spent the match with a 1 on my head for most of it, even when I didn't have more than 25 medals.

On Season 1, being focused as a WHM was the best thing ever. People recognised me and usually started focusing me first, and that was their first mistake! It was an insta-win everytime this happened.
Not sure if I'm going to play Season 2 because many of the serious PVPrs already gave up playing.
Regarding the matchmakings... I guess there's nothing you can really do :/ people that didn't play on season 1 or gave up being unable to rank, are trying their luck now, so there will be more "bad players" now.
We had enough time to learn how to Feast because we had a long Pre-season. Season 2 started without a Pre-season and I think that was a mistake that is causing this problem right now.
Edit: if we had a pre-season for Season 2, new people in PVP would have a chance to LEARN. Now in Season 2 we have players that never did Feast before, so they have to learn risking other's ranks.
We really needed a pre-season here, at least some few weeks!

Season 2 has unfortunately been pretty boring because of this. On the one hand I get the idea of letting new people get past rewards (assuming the rewards for this season are the same as last season like ppl suspect) but when doing so starts watering down the field by making the better players queue much less or not at all it makes for an environment thats unenjoyable from a competitive standpoint. The solo rankings on Primal as of 7/28/2016 have 30 people listed in the top 100 with win rates below 50%. 30 freaking ppl lol, that is horrendous and shows how weak the field is so far this season so I can see why some of the more serious PVP'ers wont even bother with this season. I really hope SE announces some time this season that the rewards are actually different to increase interest and participation from the more skilled players who atm may not be queuing cause they feel they get nothing out of it. Otherwise I gotta agree with some of the sentiment among players from the previous top 100 in saying I just dont care about this season.

Rofl at the ride healer part! But ya...am sure at some point in his basketball career, Mr. Jordan wished he coulda changed his identity to a non-black dood named Stan McWinkles so as to be unpredictable once more too. /shrug...tis the price of fame lol. When ya think about it, it forces a new element of tacticalness into the matches. I myself have stayed on opponents with 0 medals simply becuase I knew the threat they posed left unchallenged. One has to factor such things into ones strat now..which Im guessing is why they present the names at start to begin with. Good thing is, works both ways. Found out a certain tank was going for me, regardless of buffs or not (as melee and ranged) and built a quick strat around it, and sure enough.
While I miss the job titles 100% for quicker targetting purposes (the option to switch back to em in text adjustment for ps4 at least does nothing) I get the sense the devs wanted to establish a bit of a closer knit community with recurring names lol. Guess it really is a double edged sword though when you see that one (blm who REFUSES to break 10k in a 5 minute match and whose name I am THIS close to typing) guy on your team..it can get a bit demoralizing lol. Alas...pvp is as cruel and merciless as she is exciting and beautiful.
