Not really, consider the Limits of instances

    • No Tells
    • No accessing FC/LS stuff other than the channels themselves
    • No Trading
    • No adding to Friend lists.
Now consider that instances are where the party would be physically together, that means that its likely that those limits would be in place for cross-server PF. There would have to be a Linkshell System specialized for this (Which I hope the Devs implement alongside this) or a use of Teamspeak, Discord or Skype. Or else the GIFT comes into effect

My only problem with this is it's kind of a band-aid to the larger issue -- which is that most of this game's playerbase doesn't have time for statics and hardcore raiding.

We need a new type of endgame that more people can participate in... not a cross-world raid finder that just perpetuates the myth of hardcore raiding being relevant.

Well I might be one of those types of people, (Leveling Alts, PvP, Gearing Alts, Bird Farming, Anima and Zodiac preparation, Card collecting, minion collecting, occasionally farming faceroll content for items). There's also voicechat being requre but that's more of a personal issue with me. But There is a lot to do in this game, a lot of goals that seldom pertain to raiding (In fact I think that either hardcore raiders prioritize gearing an clearing the Savage raids over more friverous goals lie the ones listed above and then o them as soon as they all get their gear.) an a lot of it is so gates by RNG that these goals become mutually exclusive with the time required for raiding, even if there is some overlap.

We need a new type of endgame that more people can participate in...
They already tried that with Diadem. I'm not sure if they succeeded, but I think the next best thing to try fin some more midcore content (maybe slightly easier), something that is middle of the ground without the need for statics, and can last longer than EX Primals.

I wouldn't pay heed to anything the average WoW player has to say on the state of their game. They cry "Death of WoW" every patch with startling consistency. And an incredibly large number of Forums posters couldn't comprehend basic math and statements, saying that the Number Crunching of the game wouldn't effect their actual performance in-game.
In short, very few of them have proven to have the presence of mind to give an accurate assessment of their game.

This game is already one of the most anti-social MMOs ever made. So I don't see an issue.

Not really; I spend most of my day roleplaying. I am actually hoping for a new MMO that removes teleportation and duty finder and instances.

To be honest, those things would be nice but not really necessary. And about trading, not like you can trade tomes or gear itself and the rest everyone wants for themselves. From what I gather if you are looking for a static and aren't affiliated with a progression guild you will likely have to use external communication channels anyway and voice coordination is a requirement for most statics, isn't it?

I don't think they really tried with Diadem. At least, I hope that wasn't what them trying looks like.

Many of us thought Diadem would be a new type of endgame, but in reality is was nothing more than a loot pinata. There was nothing there for anyone to work toward. It was just another in-and-out kind of thing, no different than Void Ark or tome dungeons but with a longer time requirement and more people.

Diadem should have contained its own tiers of objectives and challenges that could only be worked toward with repeated visits and somewhat-coordinated efforts, similar to Sky or Dynamis back in the day. It should have appealed to those of us who would rather grind for our primary weapons (relic chain) rather than deal with 8-man raiding statics (which require much more disciplined/rigid schedules from extremely dedicated and flexible players).

I'm well aware of that, I was listing the trading thing for completeness' sake and my issue with voicechat has nothing to do with the use of this PF in general (it seems highly unlikely that people would use this solely for raiding, thought they'd be the most common clients), in fact I agree that voicechat is a must.

But I still want to push the LS idea (FC seems like it'd be harder to work into this because of the houses, FC alliances however might be more suited to this if they were implemented) because as others had mentioned, this might pose a threat to community if players are unable to contact their cross server piers once they leave the party/instance, because without that, then people will have no consequences to be nice, courteously or anything beyond an asshole. DF already proves the Greater Internet F[kupo!]wad Theory is in effect here, but the anonymity stems not from the name (or lack thereof) but because they from another server, and they woul be unlikely to be paired up with the same people twice by chance. You may kick them, but what they do here will not affect their reputation on their server.

Hyperbolic unrealistic example: You got a player on Gilgamesh who acts messianic and becomes wholy popular on the server but DFs alone an acts like a Troll in instances, deliberaly causing wipes, insulting his peers and revels in others misery, an He still retains his image
More realistic example: You get a player who is considered a decent guy who is still popular and has a rep for being nice and kind, but sheds that facade for your typical DF personality in instances, and people just let it go becuase they can't do anything about this short of kicking, and if he ninja loots, he gets to keep the item.
