Yoshida is still lurking around as of two hours ago. And Saturday is still a work day for Japan... (unless something changed that I don't know about) for better or worse. This is pretty infuriating after all the assurances that we could join "whatever grand company we liked best". So I guess everyone gets to spend the next few days trying to convince all their friends to join the grand company they want to join. It'd be nice if we got a quick clarification that the bonus wasn't anything major, but it's already Saturday in Japan so we can't even hope to get a reply on this until Monday, the day before the patch.
The don't post on the weekends. was the point I believe.
Also, just join whatever one you want, really just join your FAVORITE AND MORE APPEALING TO YOU. Stop trying to be elitists before the content is even out. I'm going to enjoy the game, and get to see the war unfold unlike half of the population in Eorzea, and I find that pretty damn awesome.
HAIL GRIDANIA! First and last line of defense, tremble before the magicks of the wood! Get lost in the magicks of the wood! Perish from the magicks of the wood! Rejoice in the magicks of the wood! HAIL GRIDANIA!
Hopefully what they meant by this is that there would be an increased chance that the quantity of drops would be greater, and not the quality of drops. Also, I further hope it doesn't mean to resemble what it currently takes to get the sword or bow from Darkhold - having to beat it w/in 25 mins from entering or there's absolutely no other way you will get those items. I'm all for timed events, but I feel that whether or not you obtain rewards should be gauged on whether or not you complete it and not whether or not you complete it "fast".
No one is being elitists, it's this announcement concerning the "Better Items" if you join a "certain" GC with a "certain" # of people, that is sparking the "Elitism". Which people are worried about, because those who joined the other two companies (and not the one in Ul'Dah, are now going to be f*cked over and now have no actual reason to be in the company of their choice if one is being favored over LL and Grid's GC.The don't post on the weekends. was the point I believe.

Well why do people all join uldah? Because everyone has the mind set of "Uldah is the best place to be" (Airships and Anima beg to differ), honestly Uldah is fine to have as a merchant hub, but its the players that are combining merchant with everything else in this game. Yes by saying that everyone is going to join Uldah (even though you have no idea) only perpetuates the idea of joining Uldah even if you are saying to not join Uldah BECAUSE it will be overcrowded only perpetuates the idea of joining Uldah.
Catch my drift?
So like I said just join the 1kCo. that you think you will enjoy the most (storyline wise, content wise, reward wise). You aren't going to get new and exclusive loot from being all in the same company, you'll probably just get either double the chance to obtain the weapons (meaing either: double drops [2 swords] or double the drop rate [50% drop rate instead of 25%]) And this is coming from a veteran XI player, SE likes to make it sound more grand than is it...
I wouldn't let it bother you or affect your choices too much if any at all. 2 cents.
yes please, IMMORTAL FLAMES 4 LIFE
edit: my LS had rumor that you could also use at least 1 of each GC members and get some type of bonus? is this false? Because they only mentioned everyone from 1 in the patch notes. Thanks for the info guys

Darkhold in 25 mins didn't turn out to be too much of a problem, though it was still dumb to put 2 of the weapons in that chest when the rest of the classes got their weapons from much easier conditions. This has the potential to be much worse though because people's permanent choices in companies can't be overcome with skill. That's why we're all hoping it's just a few seals or something.Hopefully what they meant by this is that there would be an increased chance that the quantity of drops would be greater, and not the quality of drops. If you are afraid your friends will throw you under a bus for these weapons (that by the way will most likely be as good or a little weaker than fully materia'd crafted weapons) then you probably need to find new friends. That or you yourself are willing to do it.
Has nothing to do with friends, has to do with everyone else. Not everyoen can ALWAYS play with friends. Sometimes you need to do a pug and this is where the biggest concern is.
Well it seems to me that the only people that would really care about it THAT MUCH would be the hardcores that probably would stay within their LS 100% of the time anyway. So many people are in dislike of the idea that I doubt anyone here would turn someone away.
