Ok..and that's still what the complaint is. Neizero wants to know what the reward is because I'm sure if it's just extra gil, DM, or just a few more GC Seals, then it's not a big deal. However, if they have a higher chance of getting drops because they are all Ul'dahn, then that is a big problem.

Insulting people in the counter argument isn't going to change their minds. It will make them stick harder to their opinion regardless of whether or not it's right, and think less of your opinion simply because you insulted them. In essence, if you want to try and change someone's mind, come up with a well thought-out response and don't be a dick.
I really does and now it has me rethinking my grand company.. :/Ok..and that's still what the complaint is. Malestorm aligned player:/wave "Hi guys, I heard you were gonna do the Ifrit battle, can I join?"
Immortal aligned players: <__< "LOL GTFO here.. didn't you get the memo?, only a huge amount of people of a certain GC can get Ifrits uber super cool items"
Malestorm aligned player: D: ... oh really?
Immortal aligned players: yea.. really? Now get out!
First of all, dont call people Silly if you are not even capable of understand what they are talking about.
We know what SE means, but the outcome will be that many people who didnt really care about joining one company or the other (wich would make them hang around those ghost twons called Gridania and Limsa-Lominsa) will now join Ul'dah because they will have higher chances of joining an Ifrit run with 7 players of the Ul'dah company than the Maelstrom/Twin Adder.
I always found this very odd, would be a very bad design choice imo, this will split up LS groups who want to get the full rewards ("sorry you're from LL gc so you can't join our Grid Ifrit PT").
Another thing I dislike about the Ifrit battle is that you must first roflstomp the rank 25 one to access the rank 45 one?
Please SE allow us to skip the easymode, some of us realy prefer the challenge, and being forced to kill Ifrit while outleveling the encounter is going to take away the feeling of finaly getting that b**tard down at the proper difficulty.
This late 80s game design fashion coming from developers like Capcom, games such as Ghouls and Ghosts (a design which WoW uses for its raids) just needs to finaly die.
I shouldn't have to beat the game/encounter on easy to get on to the real thing...
Malestorm aligned player: Oh well... Can I at least switch companies to join you guys?Malestorm aligned player:/wave "Hi guys, I heard you were gonna do the Ifrit battle, can I join?"

Yoshida: NO YOU CANNOT.
I agree some clarification is required BEFORE patch 1.19. I wholeheartedly want to join Gridania GC because of the elemental story and i'm a conjurer (it is my home). But gear progression is important to me. In the last 2 weeks i've been able to get in 1 Darkhold group and that was it. Imagine dividing that by 3 and trying to get a group now. If the uber loot is attached to GC tag team, I will be forced to join ul'dah or LL depending on what my the majority of my LS or server chooses.
/agree with this post. This serves to perpetuate the whole "everyone head to Ul'Dah!" issue they've had this whole time. Very poor choice SE... very, very poor. Provided the "greater reward" is meaningful. Like stated before, if it comes down to junk items/gil, it'll be fine. If you're required to do this to obtain the weapons shown in the video, then we have a problem.
@ OP. Please revise thread to put [dev1080] for the devs. Might get noticed quicker imo. I think thread titles can be edited.
