Well, that's the difference between SE and NCSoft. I won't claim SE are angels, but most of the time they at least try. NCSoft...urgh. I'll never forgive them for cancelling City of Heroes/City of Villains because its (quite successful) subscription model didn't fit in with their free-to-play darlings.

Yes! city of Heroes/villains was amazing. The underhanded reasons for the game's cancellation made it even worse. the company that forced their hand didn't even fair that well.

Maybe I have just missed it, but usually it's more like,

"We've heard your feedback on [insert topic] and [insert one of the follow responses]"

    response:
    - We think that in time you will learn to handle this ('git gud')
    - We are going to keep things as they are ('we don't care')
    - We are looking into it ('please forget about it, we won't bring up this topic again')

Never seen a thank you to the community just weird responses as such. I never read the entire transcript though, so that could be on me I admit.

Um, how have you missed the many ways SE thanks people for playing?

There was even an entire event where people who worked on the game were put into FFXIV as NPCs. They gathered around the player and cheered and thanked the player and apologized for 1.0's downfall.

Haha yea true there was that event

That said, to compare this back to Wal Mart. That event is like Wal Mart having a "Customer Appreciation Event" - while nice, it's still not the same as saying "Thank You" to their customers (they do both). What FFXIV currently does is the equivalent of saying "Thank You" on the receipt. Nice, but not the same thing.

Either way, I am not complaining that they don't say Thank You, but it is unusual to show such devotion to a brand to say Thank You From the Bottom of My Heart for everything you have done at a seemingly random time, where is much more common for a business to say Thank You to a customer every time that customer does business with them. If there was a specific thing that the OP wanted to thank them for that came in 3.2, that'd make more sense. If Yoshi said in a public interview "I want to start off by thanking each and every one of our subscribers for their business, without them none of this would matter." Perhaps he has done it, but not in any interview I have seen. Generally speaking, his comments make it sound more like he thinks of us all as scrubs and/or annoyances.

The Problem is, while 2.0 was good compared 1.0 they gone downhill with 3.0...
Its not the engine or difficult, its just they lose focus of "comfort"...
Its no big deal, but some issues are keeping the players struggling in discomfort...

Lets look at storage space and all those "new" items with EACH patch...
Lets look at tokens you have to trade for "new" tokens just to trade for -again- NEW tokens and finally you trade those for the real item...
Lets look at droprates where you have to roll against 7 others all the time...

While in 2.0 you had a nice and balanced way of giving out items it changed a lot to the worse in 3.0 (specialist, many different currencies)...
While in 2.0 we had some super rare, some rare and some common it seems in 3.0 we just having super rare items (pets, mounts)...
While in 2.0 you just needed to learn the pattern and could pug it, in 3.0 you need to group rope jump mostly all content and is doable only in premade groups...

How many clicks you need to add someone to blacklist?
How many items you can sell at once?
How many content is now dead? (Leves, hunting log, and many more!)

All in all it is obviously that you dont get as many support from Square Enix as you did while working on 2.0... (Yoshi-P)
Please, just make sure 4.0 will not follow 3.0 downhill, remember the roots...

It's a bitch about your old friends so your new friends will like you.

NCSoft decided to cut staff, kill content, and make the same F2P transition they always had. If you guys don't follow your news, it was an unmitigated disaster.

Just coming here to thank you for your courage and your commitment to your brand. 1.0 was in far worse shape and I recall everyone saying that you'd have to go F2P and pray. Instead, SE apologized (shock!) and redoubled their efforts. You rebuilt your game. Now, instead of a refugee, I have a home. Thank you for not settling for less and for valuing our investment in the game.

I'm just hearing from all the friends I have still in Wildstar caught in the spiral, and I think there, but by the grace of God and hard work of SE, go we.
Wildstar was never intended to go free to play. Wildstar started development when MMOs (World of Warcraft) was at it's peak. It was made as a hardcore raid or unsub game. They vastly underestimated the hardcore market and it flopped. Think savage Alex . F2p was the last resort.

Frankly look at what SE do with FF14. We have a cash shop with service like retainers not just costing a one off payment but an extra sub. Stuff is taken out of the game and added onto the cash shop. We've also got less content in 3.x patches than we have before. We now only get two dungeons and the MSQ have been very short, and Hildy was fairly short too with no great story to it. FF14 has a cash shop and the content is being reduced too.

"From the bottom of my heart" is overkill? I do thank SE from the bottom of my heart for their humility and for creating FFXIV.. I dont really think "Thank you very much" covers my appreciation, or how special this game is to me.
