    Now I wouldn't go so far as to say that. The strength in the designs isn't necessarily in their believability (though it is a good portion), but in their naturalistic style. I'm a little bugged by the glowing horn weapons, but at least they make contextual sense in the fact that they are made from the body of a fallen deity. (would have made more sense if he dropped his horns on death and you could craft the weapons. but then what would you do about trading untradable weapons huh?)

    That being said, if great swords where to come into play, I don't think I'd like them the size of my character. Perhaps a little longer than a longsword with a broader blade to come off as heavier requiring the use of two hands.

    We need to stop looking at other games to justify XIV's design choices. Every design needs to be judged by the context of the game itself and not other games where such styles would be more fitting.

    Also, I would like to see these polls about the weapon design.
