Male Armor Sets too flamboyant. Bring full armor back!

I am all for sexy stuff for males too, but a good combination of, but that small opening to show the nipples isn't sexy, it's just put badly. It's how they combine the things for males. The hellfire set could be much better, and not by just covering, it's just that small opening at the chest doesn't make it sexy, it makes it like: oh we didn't know where to put the opening so we just give it like males would have breasts... and my main's husband's healer's attire is the sexiest thing ever, the hampen pants (aura style), and nothing else - he is sexy by that, with the hellfire chest... he is like - NO... take all that off. it's better

This game really lacking proper armor style for men. It's like everything is designed for females. I know this is my personal opinion and many like this style however I noticed it becomes worse and worse. That Ifrit set is hilarious. Fortunately we have glamours and I find the Midas set way more attractive even though it doesn't really resembles a proper heavy armor. I'm saying that male glamour becomes too limited from patch to patch. Other mmorpgs have way more attractive male armor styles without being too revealing. SE can easily take some ideas from other games. The other thing with the Lore gear that highly disappointing me is that only 3 primal became sets and almost everyone looks the same. That "limited" resource thing must be stopped as an excuse really. If a game like this with so high profits and so many subscribers has so limited resources that can't even designed armor sets properly then something is really wrong.

Regarding Hailstrome Gear
Looking at the gear on the different races, I can only come to one conclusion:

it's all in the hips.

Take a look at the Roegadyn Male and the Highlander Male. Both look pretty atrocious, right? But then look at the Miqo'te. Somehow, it's more fitting on the Miqo'te than the other two.

This seems to have to do, with as far as my eyes can tell, the cut of the outfit. The way it goes further to the side, revealing more of the midsection underneath, creates a very unflattering effect.

Compare that to the miqo'te, who has it more central in the cut than the other two due to a more narrow waist, and in my opinion therein is the heart of the issue with the outfit.

It's not that it looks bad, it was just very badly cut for males.

It looks patently ridiculous on me as well. This outfit was clearly not designed with males in mind at all.

Personally I like the sexy chest window and I'm glad to see more things that aren't huge bulky tin cans.

That reminds me of the time where i was using a melded “Heavy Darksteel Armor” for my paladin, before i got the “Valor Surcoat”. Even though it had a nice look, the issue i had with it, was that i couldn’t turn my head in it. So, i was always looking straight forward (with a very stiff upper body). It looked awkward. (^_^; ) Since the Heavy Darksteel Armor took up both a body and a headpiece slot, i couldn’t change the type of helmet i wanted to use.

It took me a while to get used to the flamboyant look of the AF2 Paladin gear, but i got used to it in the end.




Personally, i prefer to look a little less flamboyant as a tank, but still have a certain fantasy feel to it. Something like this:

Right now i’m using a mixture of the Defiant Duelist Set (iLvl 185) with the Prototype Midas gear:

In my opinion the most alluring thing with this game to me is the whole "if girls are put in metal bikinis so will the men!" mentality.

And yes, this is what ultimately sold me on this game - when I realized the Coliseum gear was as skimpy looking on the men as it was on the women.

Although I would agree that the new lore sets do not exactly flatter male with imposing figures.
