VIKINGS!!! Could we please at least get a hammer? Viking Class

I know what your thinking, this guys name is Thor and hes asking for a viking. Lets be serious though in final fantasy 3 and several tactics i loved having the viking job. Just being able to mush your enemies with a large hammer was so satisfying. I know we have a warrior already (an argument often presented to me when i ask about this class.), but i simply am just not satisfied i would love it if we could just have a massive hulking tank of a class (lower DPS but Significantly higher health in the range of 30K+). It could have so many amazing possibilities as well. Large hammers. Fire based Attacks (Viking Pyre?) and Defense buffs. Maybe even a Tanking summoner? who knows what SE could come up with. IMPO i feel like there could be limitless potential as with many things in this game.

That is an extremely true point that i didnt even think of. I even remember talking about that issue just the other night. Im one step closer to holding my beloved Mjolnir

And Nero has had a hammer since 2.0, and many people would love to have Nero resurface as a teacher or at least a character.
I know i for one love my little Nero minion.

Well, first off, Vikings didn't actually use hammers with the exception of Their God of War, Thor Odinson.

Hammers were more commonly used by The Celtics and Early Scotts historically. But I will agree that a hammer based tank would be amazing. I still say Blue Mage should use a one handed mace/axe, as Shield, and use heavy armor. Blue Mage Tanks would even hold true to their original concepts as learning skills by taking damage. (Be interesting if Red Mage wound up a healer with En-Spells too)

I thought about Viking at one point, my thought was 2 handed hammers as a dps class they would be a slow but heavy hitting class, like a physical Blm. Maybe a stance that doubles their GCD but also doubles their damage dealt and have massive oGCD hits with long recasts.

Well, warrior lore is in part based on Berserkers who were Vikings. Also Godbert uses a hammer (with its limit break) and he's not a Viking. Then again Gilgamesh does use a Mace which is a type of war hammer.
