How is it not going to be easy?

How many people play this game and play their classes to the standards and levels of the world first groups?

I don't have a number, but I would imagine it's not many.

does everyone want to dedicate hundreds of hours wiping to a fight which has 0 meaning anymore? no, I don't imagine they do, gear rewards? wow standard lore gear smashes it, user titles? oh yeah there are none,

Gordias savage 3&4 hold no relevance now beyond wanting a test that isn't so brutally unforgiving as it used to be, it's just catering to the majority,

the people who could clear this back when, have cleared, there is no prestige left, but on the same token, there is no real gain in leaving these fights open to those who might want to do them when they both ended so many groups

That's not what's being asked. With the nerfs detailed in the patch notes, how is it not going to be easy when every hard aspect of the fight is nerfed?

I didn't say anything about whether or not I thought the fight needed the nerf.

It was going to be easier anyway. By now, week 2 of 3.2, we are i215-220 mostly. We get echo anyway. The point of A3S NEVER was unforgiving death mechanics. It was doing mechanics and keeping DPS up and the heals. By current overgear the HP pool is increased making the healpart easier as is the keeping DPS up.
I see no point in nerfing SAVAGE which is pure optional content.
Besides that the usual ilvl... I was in my 3.1 gearset i195 because of melds I wouldnt be able to enter by now :/

which is why there's no reason to nerf it? there's no reason to even clear it, anymore. the only people that still care, are the people who wanted to clear it for the challenge...well apparently/supposedly there's no challenge anymore...so no reason to clear it.

Yep that's pretty much the only reason i even raid, dont really care about glamour. Rather sad it got nerfed since it's automatically easier with current and coming ilvls.
Whatever, we have midas savage now and future patches will bring more stuff. So not a big deal anyways.

You know, we could still play content on minimum-lvl for challenge. Nerf wasn't needed IMO, but i think nobody will really care at all.

To this day, there are still unsynch groups failing in coil. Do not assume nerfing a raid makes it a faceroll.

It happened in 2.21, it happened in 2.41, it happened in 2.56, it happened in 3.21, it will happen again in 3.41 and in 3.56. This seriously got old.

I only rant along because it is first time it hits the optional harder stage. I was sad about nerfs on Coil but there was no easy mode of it so I am OKish. Also as I wrote before 2 weeks in we overgear by 5 ilvl minimum and as it was a mayor patch had so many things to prepare and I hoped to get my raidteam friends the clear b4 nerf. Could've needed 1-2 more weeks :/

Just to correct a slight error : gordias savage is in no way optionnal the way Coil Savage was. It is the equivalent of regular coil progression wise (even though difficulty wise it isn't anything alike).

The day it ended in DF though, it was deemed to be nerfed. But be happy, they didn't change anything in AS4 (even though that's a bit stupid) so you still have your unnerfed trophy awaiting

Nerfing old content is something common and expected.

Who cares anyways? The point was to clear A1-4 before 3.2, that's what counts!

Yeah happy about no A4S and I knew and expected nerfs just all the stuff you needed to do in preparation of Midas Savage (esp sephi farms and Midas NM Df wipes x.x ) kept us from tackling A3S down for good. I know we couldve done it before nerf... well atleast the chances on a fast clear for my friends is high tomorrow ^.^

It wasn't as optional but still with the amount gear you easily get per VA/VA upgrades ESO overflow it makes it again pure option imo. I see a way lowed DF poprate than for coils... after the first hype (people wanna try in DF and realise it isnt easy as shit).

Yes, yes we do. Until and unless they stop doing it.

With coil you could say that there's story in there that everyone should get a chance to see, and that people need to beat old coil so they can catch up to do current coil - both of which are valid points and neither of which are true of Alexander savage.

If, as others have said, the only reason left to do AS3 is for the challenge, then what's the point now it's been nerfed? Is there any satisfaction in knowing you beat a watered-down version?

That's not even slightly true. There will be people that start playing the game today who will acquire both the skill and inclination to clear this fight at its original difficulty, and now they will never have the chance to.
