I never understood the desire for realistic looking weapons and armors in a fantasy setting. I mean, you're shooting balls of fire and electricity out of your hands and performing necromancy on a daily basis. Meanwhile, a huge fire lord is threatening to take over the land. Not like that realistic looking weapon is going to do anything when you hit a dragon in the ankle with it. Don't get me wrong, I don't want spikes sticking out of ever piece of armor and everything to be glowing, but I don't really enjoy looking at some wizard in shabby robes with a gnarled branch for a staff either.

I wish I could say I know what art style I prefer, but I honestly don't care so long as the setting and gameplay are immersive and fun.
