Sorry to hear you lost 15 mil, but also happy that i am not the only one and it was bad game design as usual thanks for the reply.A runestone is lost if you open the chest with a full inventory. Don't listen to all the mis-information in this thread. I lost a buccaneer's shirt back in January when they were worth 15mil. It sucked but it was gone. The chest depopped, it wasn't in the loot list, it was just gone.
It boils down to more sloppy game design by the old development team. It would be simply unacceptable to have a piece of software do this in anything that isn't a game and anyone who thinks otherwise I hope never gets a job in the software industry. It would be like going to an ATM to take money out but losing your money because you accidentally had your finger on the slot where the money comes out.
The game has checks for full inventory on pretty much everything in this game, except that. It's an oversight either through lack of adequate QA testing (the patch with these NMs was probably rushed) or simple laziness.
You won't get that runestone back. This isn't Final Fantasy XI where you can fill in a form online for items that are lost through no fault of your own and have them looked into and put back in your inventory. This is Final Fantasy XIV, the flagship MMO from the same company without any customer service. Trust me, I tried various methods of contact in efforts to get mine back since it was so valuable at the time.
This isn't up for debate with me. Speak to any other software developers and they will tell you the same; bad design and bad QA.
