Self-teaching is the only way to learn the language. Classes are for weeaboos.

All you need is a 20 buck book, internet access and patience.

I completely disagree with this. There's a reason children are sent to school rather than given a few books to read at home.

While you can't rely solely on a class and some self study is needed, if all you have is a few books how are you going to get the correct pronunciation in your speaking? Check your practice is correct. Sure, you can check an answer in the back of a book but that's nothing compared to being able to write freestyle and have someone, especially a native speaker, check if what you're saying is correct.

/nod agreed my fault for starting to talk about that guy from SE leaving lol sorry.
I try to update the OP and few posts after OP with links to the new translations I posted so you can try there also but I only update that part after I finish the translations for the day so if you want fresh/new translations right away still have to comb through other peoples post, just scroll through and stop whenever you see flashing sexy rainbow subligar lol.

I swear that subligar must be some kind of multi-purpose tool or something

Also for gathering don't forget YoshiP said before they wanted to make it so if you wear certain stat gear it will result in more of one type of item over others available at that spot, put that together with this 3-4 items per area.

STR gear = 1 item, VIT gear = 1 item etc... can try to concentrate just getting that one item from these 3-4 items...

I guess it's good, can go back to mining again... haven't touched in a long time lol.

There's also those gathering abilities that increase the chance of getting certain items from sweet-spots, unless they're planning to remove them.

1. Go find a hiragana/katakana cheat sheet... I made one before but can't find it lol.
2. Go buy both Japanese version and English version of a manga you like and start reading page by page side by side.
Easier Japanese manga's have something called Furigana next to kanji characters so you can read it in hiragana/katakana.

At least one of my friends did this and in 3 month time the dude started borrowing my JP version games (since they release earlier in Japan) and finished playing on his own.... crazy dude...

Yes, yes, I know what spawn patterns are.

Apparently our interpretations of the announced changes are quite different, and we won't know for certain the effects of the changes until the 4th (assuming it's not delayed) or unless a dev responds to a question specifically addressing "spawn patterns" post 1.19.

Until either happens, I'm just going to assume business as usual with the exception of having less unwanted items at the end of the day.

Honestly guys, if you feel the need to discuss anything please go to another thread or make a new thread. There are many people subscribed to this thread that expect to see translations when it pops up in their sub-box. It's disappointing to constantly see otherwise.

I was trying to use anime to teach me to speak it, so yeah it makes sense that manga would be a way to learn to write it. A fun and enjoyable way at least.

@Reinheart, Could you see if there's any dev replies (or any Japanese side questions for that matter) about Canvas gear? I.e. are they all going to become collectors items because they can no longer be made, or are the listed crafting changes simply a "sample" and there are more recipes that are not listed?
