PSA you can get free tier 4 materia from old Beast Tribe quests

We are a week into the patch now. Taking up a beast tribe to the level it gives the materia takes at least 20 days (rough count, not exact). Previously there was no real benefit of having them leveled. Take your count. You might start seeing your precious freebie IVs a bit more in few weeks time.

Let us also not devolve into the stage of telling people they have to raise their beast tribe reputation else "tough cookies." That being said, the quests are pretty easy and we get 12 a day now. T4 materia isn't the only benefit to having those quests unlocked. The beast tribe currency helps a lot if working on a relic. The same items you buy for relic can also be traded in Idyllshire for T5 catalysts from one of Rowena's girls (the one on the left iirc)

It's finally worth something, so I just started them yesterday. So, I won't be melding a ton of IV's for quite some time, so just be patient with those of us that previously found the content lacking. It's worth something now, so more will start to do them and eventually destroy the IV's market. At that point they will become so cheap that people will just buy them instead. DF's aren't gonna magically get 5-10 minutes faster because of materia.

People practicing practical application of their abilities and awareness of the dungeons themselves will serve that end better.

I don't think a lot of people know that you can get free tier 4 materia from beast tribes.

What I noticed is about 9/10 people in DF did not put materia in their new 3.2 gear. It kind of bugs me because that is something everyone should be doing and you are only putting yourself at a disadvantage if you don't have materia since you are losing out on extra stats you could have. Makes the dungeon take longer too because you are doing less dps. Why is not using materia even a thing?

Many possibilities
1. People didn't rank up all their tribe
2. People don't care about being optimized because they don't care about end game and just wanna have fun
3. People don't wanna lvl up their carft and pay people to melt materia on their gear.
4. People are tired of breaking their materias because no fucking luck at all #novus

To be brutally honest, the only people I can see actually using materia in any amount on end game gear are those healers able to dance the line between healing and damage dealing. Healer equipment has a stark lack of accuracy and materia can easily make up the difference. But, again, it's not something they'd likely want to do on pre-upgraded equipment given the cost.

Tank accessories - STR on VIT, or VIT on STR is a huge boost
Non-tank acccessories - VIT is a small boost to HP, but when you add 75 it's noticable
BLM - 18 Spell Speed IVs drop GCD by 0.06 seconds
BRD/SCH - 18 Crit Hit IV is +162 to crit hit rate

Tier IV isn't expensive, the boost from a single one isn't anything major, but it all adds up.

A few things to consider:

-Most people can't meld their own materia. Many won't even bother someone else unless they think it's very important.

-Many people don't have access to lots of T4+ materia. No beast tribe rep, no retainer stock of materia, very little gil, or all.

-At this point in time there are very few items to meld. Most players probably have fewer than 3 pieces of gear that could be melded because of the time since release (0-2 tome items, 0-5 midas items depending on completion and choices).

-The gains are minimal for the hassle, but as time goes on more people will notice that the materia isn't hard to get/ expensive and crafters are happy to meld for them (possibly for a fee). Tanks can gain by far the most AP since they can meld STR to their right side and healers can meld accuracy all over the place so they can actually hit things. DPS (the majority of players I think) stand to gain the least. All the same I'm sure it'll catch on before long.

Is the materia from beast tribe appears randomly? I did Kobold (The only 2.0 max rank beast tribe I've did after Ixali) and I don't see any Heaven's Eye.
