Please let us socket materia without crafting

slotting materia is something raiders did not have to worry about, and crafting/raiding was fairly separate. Participation in crafting was not required for raiding, and participation in raiding in not required for crafting. being able to slot my own materia without having to bother someone else is far from wanting to craft my own gear.

You must be new to raiding.

TC, if you don;t want to bother your FC's crafter, then don't. Shout in Idyllshire or somewhere that you are looking for a crafter to meld for you. It's not hard. Just be sure to leave something of a tip.

lol, most people can get it for free via their FC as long as you have the materia/matter.

Agree with OP though - it's a dumb restriction. One I can live with, but it's still dumb.

Whenever I ask craftsman in FC to craft me something, I always give him/her some money for it - even tho it's not mentioned.

A tip for one meld? sure not needed but if you come to me wanting an entire gear set melded especially crafting and gathering sets you're damn right you're paying if I don't know you.

Just level the crafters you need for your equipment to 60. They designed the materia system this way to pad out their game. Can't let combat classes get everything easily. Sure it'll seem like a waste of resources but in return you can gather and craft resources for yourself or even make yourself money and get returns on it.

It wouldn't be nearly so bad if slotting my own materia could be done with one crafter at 60. But as it stands, just looking at my current gear, I would need to level BSM, GSM, LTW, WVR, and ARM.

Currently leveling Goldsmith and I'll have to level Leatherworker, Weaver and I think Carpenter to 60. I am absolutely thrilled.

I've got a few crafting classes to 50 it was one of the worst times I've had in the game. It's not a facet of the game that I enjoy at, and I liked that I wasn't forced into it at all outside of purchasing consumables.
