Killing him would have resulted in retaliation - Roundrox's death, in other words. I also feel like it's worth pointing out that Alexander is a very lighthearted raid in many ways. That's not necessarily a bad thing, mind you, since I enjoy the aesthetics and music quite a bit. I may be wrong but I get the impression that it isn't trying to take itself too seriously - especially given that the main antagonists are Goblins and we're accompanied by Cid, Biggs and Wedge...all of whom aren't exactly the sharpest tools in the shed when they're together on screen.

I'm just glad that - for the time being - we didn't see Cid resort to yet another convenient plot device to save the day. Hopefully they'll let Mide, if anyone, do that so that the awful guy doesn't overshadow her.
