It would still not make any sense. The cost is way too high to use these for materia. SE had previously stated that scrip gear was to be a cheaper alternative to melding. The il180 right-side gear does that, but the accessories do not. If you combine them and have the entire set, you are left with enough CP to use the early 2-star rotations that were developed. These rotations will need to be significantly altered for 3-star crafts. They will also require all the cc skills you are not supposed to need as a specialist (as you need to also have a soul of the crafter equipped to reach the correct stats). The specialist actions do not help with this significant deficit this gear set gives you when compared to melded gear and rotations.
As soon as you look at the potential losses due to NQs it will actually end up cheaper to just make and meld the il170 sets.

"We have heard your concerns and are making adjustments.
All pre-i150 right side crafter gear has been substantially nerfed."
I should also point out that if you're able to gather at all, that experimenting with 3-star is significantly cheaper and easier to do than experimenting with 2 star (For Eikon metal at least).
Run your daily roulettes, use a King's Yield 2 gathering attempt on the metal, and bam. 5 3 star material crafts to play around with. If you can complete it with 5k quality, you can 100% it with HQ mats. (-1 per extra 1k)
