I think what he meant to say was that HE damaged the Final Fantasy brand name by pushing to release FFXIV too early.

Scary thing is they still are at the top of the graphics. Seen my 360 drop in frame-rate a couple of times during heavy graphical moments on FFXIII. Only other game I've seen do that to a 360 is Sonic The Hedgehog, because of how advanced they went with the havok physics engine. Sega and Square Enix have that in common, they always seem to like to release games that push a console to it's very limit, so FFXIV's PS3 release will be.... interesting.
I like this game. I like SE. Everyone else can go climb a tree.
(:O a poem)

Its known that the 360 version of FF13 was rushed and not optimized very well, it doesn't even run at 720 natively.Scary thing is they still are at the top of the graphics. As a long time SE fan I can honestly say they were never at the top of the graphical game, SE have always been top dog where CGI is concerned but that becoming less and less important with every generation of consoles.

Thank you. However, I guess coming in on the tail end of 1.18, with 1.19 already well defined, and 1.20/1.21 starting to take shape probably helped with my opinion of the game. I think many people are still feeling damaged from the initial release.
I avoided the game myself upon reading the initial reviews. However, after cutting away from WoW, I came back to see what was going on. I liked the direction and tone in the Letters from the Producer, and decided to get in on the still indefinite trial period. I'm very glad I did.
That's.... pretty much exactly the same as what I've done. ^.^Thank you. @Jinko: True enough, FF games have been slowing down a bit since FF7. Saying that though one of the most impressive things about FF7 was how it could switch inbetween CGI and in-game flawlessly, something no other PS1 game had done before. At the time it was ground-breaking.

Maybe in the next MMO they make, they take successful concept from their previous games instead of reinventing the wheel.
Goodbye, Final Fantasy...
Actually that wouldn't be a bad idea, making a thread for people to list what things they liked from the FF series that they'd put together to create an MMO with.
Hmm...

and another like for ff13. Also played without auto battle and quite eager about ff13-2.
Least favorite ff is probably 7. It's the WoW of FF games to me. So many new players entered the RPG market and the general behavior Of players made it easy to associate negativity toward the game. Like WoW, not a bad game, but when other players make you dislike things you normally wouldn't and you can't separate game from.community anymore.

erm, even the gameplay graphics where alot of the time ahead of all other competition, you only need to compare a handful of titles to FF of the same year. Its known that the 360 version of FF13 was rushed and not optimized very well, it doesn't even run at 720 natively.

but yes, thier most highly prized work was in CGI but with entire games essentialy becoming cgi, its kinda moot these days, i do wish this FF wasnt so gpu intensive or we had more setting options cause XIV's video settings are pretty lame.
its either all or nothing really lol
