well i can tell you from experience (having just done it myself) deleting the game and re-installing it got it working for me, all my hotbars were still the same and nothing was really different

Sadly, there's no way I can re-download 40 GB of data because the cost to my ISP will be roughly equivalent to a 6 month subscription to FFXIV just to give an example.
This is unacceptable, because nowhere did it say in the patch notes or when I subscribed for 6 more months 2 weeks ago, that this would happen.

This isn't a solution. Especially since FFXIV is the only PS4 game that locks me out of my console when it updates and I can't even play other games, because unlike all other games, it doesn't download patches in the background.

sorry man forgot about the people with data caps, it seems they did some server maintenance not too long ago so they are looking into things at least. But you are right about the borked launcher it needs to be addressed
