    BRD or NIN

    Hello,

I leveled my BLM to 60, and I cannot STAND the Enochain rotation, and having to maintain astral/umbral for it to work with movement mechanics.

Do you think BRD would be simpler, and easier to maneuver with while maintaining good DPS? If I should expect the same from BRD as I did BLM, I don't want to waste time leveling it and ill just go NIN, since it still has support.

I felt the same way about BRD as you do about BLM, I hate WM (as a personal preference, before I start a flame war), and im currently levelling NIN and SMN and seeing which I like best

I started BRD in late September 2013 until ROG released. I've mained NIN since then. I have both BRD and NIN at Lv60. I don't have BLM unlocked, so I don't know what Enochain does or how it's implemented into rotations.

That said, while I originally hate Wanderer's Minuet on BRD, it began to shine once I unlocked Iron Jaws. Now, I dislike playing as BRD if I have no access to WM and Iron Jaws. If you're looking to be a high dps job, it's not BRD or NIN. They both do a lot of damage, but quick kills come from BLM, MNK, and DRG (while a few argue that SMN can as well).

BLM, from what I know, is heavy on dps while BRD and NIN deal good dps but mainly used for their utility (Songs and Trick Attack).

BLM has a rather rigid rotation. BRD cast times are significantly shorter than the gcd, giving you quite a lot of mobility in the job, so it's really not *as bad* as people make it out to be. Going to BRD or NIN from BLM will likely be a step down regardless in terms of raw damage output, but neither class has nearly as punishing a rotation as BLM does.

+ you are able to move between skills without moving back to a certain position. You even can jump out of aoe while the Brds EA animation, which sometimes is really handy imo.

If you want to keep casting but have a less rigid rotation then bard or even machinist. If all you want is damage numbers then dragoon or monk. If you want to be supportive nin, bard, machinist all work.

WM attacking is nothing like BLM attacking; you have plenty of time to move.

Clearly, the best Final Fantasy character is Locke Cole.

If you want more movement then BRD is probably a decent choice but you won't get high DPS numbers, if you want that then go with NIN.

Bard is nothing even close to blm, but i do understand what some could mean.
I think because you did not like blm perhaps Ninja will be more suited to you. It has support and fairly good dps.
Granted not the same amount of damage as Monk (even less so with upcoming Monk buffs, sigh) but has group utility in which Monk does not have.

I expected BRD to do less, but is NIN dps that much better than BRD? I thought that since they are both support it would be similar?
