Wow a quest for gear or more actions every 5 ranks?

Thats gonna shut most of the people up that keep saying "ahhh easy-mode blah blah blah"

Do you even know what said people are referring to when they mention "easy-mode"? XIV is a very easy MMO atm, and if you don't know what that means then you'll never understand complaints.

Also, no, accessible =/= easy, so getting more skills and quests for gear won't "shut people up".

The problem is if the playerbase ever ends up outnumbering people like us who have been around forever (could happen at PS3 release if there isn't a mass exodus this time). While we'll always have most of the content complete and consequently be bored an unsatisfied, new players will be doing all of the stuff we did in the last 12+ months for the first time and they'll be probably be quite content. In a way, we're damned when it comes to this game ; ;

Unless you can guarantee the people who consider this game "easy-mode" will "shut-up" with more skills and quest to obtain gear, I don't see the problem because simply adding more skills won't make a game harder.
