    Teleport kills immersion

As anyone else would, i have my opinions on the travel system but i am interested on peoples thoughts. Would you like more teleport locations or return to a more FFXI-esque system with limited teleportation using instead boats/airships for travel between regions.

Teleport is fastfood. And in my eyes, its the main reason, why the hunts turned into what we finally got.

During the BETA I did write down my thoughts on teleporting and I did ask for a better chocobo travel system. I really liked the travel System in WoW and the chocobo travel System could work same as good, if they would put some more time into it.

First thought upon seeing the thread title was "so don't teleport". It's there, but no one puts a gun to your head to do it. If it really kills your game experience that much, then go the long way everywhere. It's your sub fee, after all. Teleporting is a player convenience thing and I'm glad it's there.

if it ruins your immersion... then simply dont use it. Even if it ruins your style of gameplay, there are many others who will argue that it compliments theirs.

I am of the mindset that both styles are being accommodated for.
The lore actually gives us reasons why the aethernet systems even exist. Once you are able to physically attune to them, you can teleport to that location at will. I see no reason why Square Enix should not continue to use the lore they've already injected into the game in the future.

Also, Im assuming you have not played FFXI in some time. They now have the ability to teleport from any homepoint to another homepoint that you have already accessed before.
Not to mention, there are now similar teleport options scattered around the world in the form of npc books, and other places where you can teleport from Jeuno to a specified location around Vanadiel using Crystals as a form of teleport currency. (I cannot remember the names of these systems, but I'm sure you could google it, if you are so inclined)

Lalafells ruin my immersion. They should delete the Lalafells.

Probably wouldn't have made my thread about the monsters if I saw this, as it goes hand and hand for me.

Personally I'm mixed on it... Because I understand and agree with both mindsets, I just don't know which does the game more good in the long run.

When I played ffxi, I felt overwhelmed by the massive land structures and traveling. For me, traveling to different areas was an event all on its own... And I miss that. The vastness, the danger, possibility of getting lost, and the accomplishment you feel when you know your way around enough to guide others. I miss this feeling fairly often. As I've said elsewhere in sure a lot of that goes hand and hand with my age then and now... But still.

And then on the other hand, I don't have time for that anymore! Yoshi brought up a fair point about it being more convenient. I just think we lost something in the process

Traveling through Eorzea the first time on foot or mount is awesome, but after seeing the same places 2000000 times it's nice to be able to just teleport around. And like others said, if you think teleport is ruining the way you play the game, then don't use it. The option is there for players to use if they want to and it should stay like that.

Honestly, I'm cheap when comes to teleporting. Rather than spending 4xx on a teleport from Ul'dah to Limsa, I would take the airship and get to Limsa that way. Anyway to save money on teleporting, I will take it.

Well that's the other thing I have issue with. The landscape in this game isn't that vast even if I wanted to chocobo it. I feel like it's a linear game. Say I wanted to take some bizarre route... I'm going to hit a wall fairly quickly in either direction... And the possibility of being lost is almost impossible. I will give credit to the new content though for being larger due to the flying mechanic.

Also just for the sake of argument, giving the players a choice to hoof it wouldn't solve the issue if quick travel was indeed an issue that's causing problems in game, it would have to be mandatory to give the desired effect (again just for sake of argument).
